Yawn... reduction to the absurd/extreme (logical fallacy);
ESO caters to casuals first and foremost. There is no basis for comparison. I'm sick and tired of every second post referencing WildStar; get another scapegoat or better argument to pitch... preferably one with substance.define (without frothing at the mouth and spurting egregious and baseless claims with BS statistics loaded with logical fallacies) what exactly are."high end" PvEers... they are always the loudest ones...
You've been pretty loud in every thread since January 15.
I agree with you that these changes are minor for the wider playerbase -- but I can't find reason to vilify players who feel most affected by them. They are also playing the game their way. Be that some high end (whatever that means) way, or low brow... You can't just shout a person down because you have some bile stored up for players with more skill than yourself. It gets old, fast -- and distracts from whatever point you're trying to make. When every post is a crusade, there really is nothing of interest to take away from them. You don't have to campaign here.

By making an Altmer or Dunmer, you assumed that they would always be near the top of magicka DPS because they are THE magicka races in the lore. We didn't think ZOS would trample all over the lore like this.
Um.... no. I made my racial choices from an RP standpoint, as I always do. I have a dunmer stamblade - she's fun to play now that I've figured stuff out.... I have an altmer magden, LOVE her and her playstyle. Playstyles may have to undergo a change after Wrathstone - but I'm not fussed about it.
I'm not race/alliance changing anyone. All my toons have backstories, and life stories. And mostly more-or-less lore appropriate names.
Not changing any of it/them. Not on either account. And yes I realize I'm not exactly "normal".

I want challenging, rewarding content, not some artificially inflated difficulty due to constant nerfs; especially ones that require me to dump tons MORE money into the game I am already supporting just to make those characters that logged those thousands of hours even remotely viable again.
So now what? I buy race change tokens for all my characters? I buy additional character slots and re-roll new characters to accommodate *** changes just so I can play at the same level I am this patch? I create a new PSN account, and re-roll new characters? Something has to give, and I will tell you first hand that if it isn't a rework of these upcoming changes, that thing that will give is me logging in to play daily. Me subscribing. Me purchasing chapters. Me purchasing DLC. I own 2 physical copies of the base game, a physical copy of Morrowind, and all the DLC on 3 accounts. I've played for years, but they want to cater to new players, and milk long time supporters. Guess what? I have a free guild bank due to new players. They played until around level 25 and haven't logged in for years.
Ladies and gentlemen, a person who doesn't know what an RPG is.
That is all.
of course you are sick of it because it shuts every argument you think you have down really quickly (as quickly as Wildstar completely failed because it catered to the exact same players that should be ignored)
And the fact that you stalk me on the internet just shows who shoud be just ignored...and why.

Same situation here
Got it when i first bought the game, sounded nice back then, but I didnt really use it since I play EP only and my first char was a dunmer magdk...for a very very long timw it was my only char
When I switched it to stam I went for redguard, which I could because I already hade ARAA....
But this feature can now become Basegame, its about time after 5 years

Thing is, a baseless comparison that appeals to extremes without substance is not an argument; it's a logical fallacy -- along with numbers without source and a continuous barrage of arrows fired at the very people who provide detail, information, guides and a wealth of knowledge out spanning what the game offers; the very people who promote exposure to the game and inspire players. It doesn't shut anything down, instead it aggravates a situation by increasing the level of unnecessary negativity. It is not productive and adds nothing to conversation, effectively stalling debate and any mature discussion. I agree with you on a few points here -- but you're making it hard to maintain that agreement when you pull the conversation into deliberate derailment via fallacious rhetoric and name calling. It gives the appearance of sour grapes -- like overcompensating for lack of skill/ability; projecting negativity as an out clause. Sorry, but that's the reality of every post being a targeted, aggressive rag on a certain group of individuals.
We went over this in another thread where you decided to turn the discussion into a tirade and personal attack (before the mods shut it down and deleted 50% of the posts) -- that in itself already shows the direction this thread will follow when 'ultimate (or ultimately empty) arguments' are banded around like gospel without the relevant context of any asserted truth. I guess the world of 'alternative facts' really is a thing. Sadly enough
'Stalk' is an interesting choice of vocabulary in this context. I suggest you look it up. I frequent the same forum, and play the same game -- not sure if we share a platform. Disagreeing with you is not synonymous with surreptitious or ominous intent.
Let's have a mature conversation, and respect the views of others; attack does nothing to appeal to the majority or put your case forward for real consideration.

Yep, but it's looking like they have their sights set on these changes. Testing showed that Altmer were only slightly behind Breton and Khajiit before today. So they NERFED them to ensure they are no longer competitive. It's obvious they want Altmer and Dunmer out of the meta.

So if casual players can make that investment, why can't min/maxers? And if they started playing before One Tamriel, where you were limited to grouping with people in the same alliance for Trials and Dungeons, why don't they have that already, if being BiS race was important to them?
MLGProPlayer wrote: »With the latest round of racial changes today, ZOS has ensured that neither Altmer nor Dunmer will be in the meta anymore. Breton and Khajiit are the clear-cut BiS magicka DD races (they were before today too, but the gap just widened).
This means that for any Dunmer to race change, they will need to buy the Adventurer Pack for $20. Yes, you read that right, Twenty *** dollars.
Altmer will likewise need to buy the pack if they don't want to change to a Khajiit (which is understandable since the beastfolk aesthetic doesn't work for everyone).
So ZOS, cut the *** crap. It's obvious you are doing this on purpose. The Adventurer Pack better be *** deeply discounted (like 75% off) when this patch goes live, if not outright free.

Players who don't have ARAA will be locked in to only being able to change to one of the other two races in their current faction - even if that race change is free. I think that was the OPs point.
Few are more sceptical of gaming companies than me. I was part of the "forum resistance" when Bethesda was called out and caught manipulating rng drop to impact their global AH profits.
I just do not see these changes as being anything close to some manipulative business practice just to generate revenue from race change sales. In fact these changes actually make sense and look like a real attempt to balance the races, which is an overall good for any MMO

This.
People often forget what RPG means, they play this like it was CS or FIFA. It's not even an E-sport ffs
I don't think that 'Any race, any alliance' should be given freely, they did that for lore, so we actually feel which alliance we are in. If that was free, people wouldn't care. How many altmers could betray Aldmeri and go to Pact? Or maybe you want a pack of bosmers to infiltrate Daggerfall to eat their plants?
They already gave us race and name change, I don't know any other game which did this. If you want that pack, just buy it, don't be greedy.
MLGProPlayer wrote: »
So what? Why are Altmer/Dunmer more important than the other races that got nerfed last time there was a major patch that changed races?
But my point is, the ARAA was the whole reason why I pre-ordered the game. Everyone I know has ARAA already, and they are mostly casual players.
So if casual players can make that investment, why can't min/maxers? And if they started playing before One Tamriel, where you were limited to grouping with people in the same alliance for Trials and Dungeons, why don't they have that already, if being BiS race was important to them?
Plus, as you pointed out, Altmer have the option of changing to Khajiit without ARAA.

I agree it could/should be bundled into the base game (as previous chapters are); it makes no sense to keep it as a separate product. At the same time, if it remains in the store, it is still (even if only seldom bought) a monetary gain.
Is it really needed though, separate or otherwise? I suppose that's the crux of this thread. When blanket changes are made that affect race, and players are faction locked -- yes it matters, if they feel impacted. Does that mean ZoS should remedy it with discount... not sure. It wouldn't be the first time I've had to fix something out of my control at my own expense (not just ESO).
Same tbh- that’s why I created my main, his father and mother (who should be dead but I wanted to make a concept for her) on here. The rest of my alts are just joke characters.Sylvermynx wrote: »MLGProPlayer wrote: »Today's change is PTS only?

An entertaining stat to be made public is, how many characters are being actively played that are Altmer or Dunmer compared to the other races?
... I bet it is a large volume of the player base which results in more race changes needing to take place, and I guarantee that many people have more than 3 which will be covered by the free race change tokens. This entire debacle is nothing more than a cash grab. It's shameful to even think a company would stoop so damn low, especially since those mostly affected are long time players that have been supporting the game over the years. Of course this is all speculation on my part, but based on their actions of both the past and present, it is very hard not to speculate this is the driving force behind these changes.
Well, I can only speak for myself: I have 3 dunmer and an altmer on two accounts. Of course, I'm not done making toons on the second account....
