Do you play the same class/es regardless of nerfs?

So I hear often that people change what they play based on the META at the time. I actually wonder how many people actually do this. I play a mageblade and always will. No nerf will stop me!

edit: changed title because people do play multiple classes but doesn't mean they are META chasers

Yep. I started playing a MagDK back in September and it fits my play style. Everyone says they suck in PvE. But I do great in Vet dungeons with him. And he's not too shabby in PvP lol.

Started magdk. I can't bring myself to invest in a new class with leveling all the guild skill lines and collecting skyshards again.

I am considering trying out Stamdk though.

Sorry but people who change their class depending on the meta are nobody I would like to play with. If you're always trying to pick the "best" class because of numbers and not because you master it by yourself you'll never be good or great at it.

I have many alts, and have played all permutations of all classes, with maxed character slots. But I do have the "main" class (MagDK) that I play much more than all the rest put together. This has been pretty consistent in the past as well. In WoW, I always gravitated towards druids, regardless of their state, from completely broken to crazy powerful (for a brief, shining moment). In EVE, I'd fly drone boats, even though they were far from optimal for most things. In ESO, I play MagDK, even though they take up a melee slot. Hmmm...am I a masochist? I might be a masochist. TIL.

Xbox EU is the meta chasing capital of ESO.
Contrary to what I used to believe, it's actually guys who have been here for 4 years that are still bad but believe they are gods that seem to do the meta chasing.

I've played Templar since V ranks and never even think about bouncing.

Yes. I would change or more likely just quit playing though if the nerf was so bad it completely destroyed the class.

Yes. According to the forums, all classes are nerfed into a state of uselessness with every patch unless it is a class that someone else has killed you with in pvp, then they're all OP.

So, my magblade is chronically nerfed into useless OP status with every patch.

Only recently have my eyes been opened to the wonders of DPSing. Following the online builds was absolutely fruitless and I gave up trying because everyone said 'you should easily pull 45k with that build' and I could barely scrape the 30 mark.

Now I'm finally enjoying playing my Nord stamblade and I'm not changing. I don't care if magblade could pull twice the DPS, or magsorc four times as much. I am having fun playing that char and I won't change.

My main trial character has been my magblade for three years now. They weren’t always on top but I still enjoyed it the most.
My main char was magsorc for almost two years and then I started to test other classes.
Also have one stam and one magicka of each class.

I'd rather make a new character to experience a different class / race than change a character that I have spent so much time playing. I might have to make changes to gear / skills due to any changes to the game but I wouldn't effectively erase who they are all for some extra numbers.

The poll doesn't have an option for my playstyle. I don't really have a main anymore. I play several different classes and it's not dependent on the meta; it's based on what I want to play. If I had only played one class for the past several years this game would be very dull by now.

I may start using a different character more, if their class is favoured, but I have all classes represented, so the individuals already exist.

My main is a two-handed Nord DK, so I'm not chasing meta anyway, just having fun.

I made an Altmer magplar before I knew there was a meta. I'm sticking with it no matter what. Even if they nerf the race and class, I'll stick with it. I'll complain but I'm not changing this character.

As long as the class is not butchered I will keep playing it, but yeah I dont play Magdk or Magden atm because of how bad they are atm

For me it depends what kind of class I'm interested to play, no matter is it current META class or not.
For example when Murkmire was released to live server, I lost my interest to play with mag NB, which used to be my main.
I created Hybrid NB instead and when I got already used to melee fights, I created stam NB as well.
Lately I've been playing a lot with Stamden and I'm very likely going to create stamina based Necromancer at Elsweyr release.

I stick with all my characters as though they were family. But that doesn't mean the changes that affect them don't trouble me. Like many long time players, I have countless hours invested in effort and decisions about my characters and their play style. It's unfortunate that developers seem to care little about this as they pursue changes that appear to serve to feed only their own ideological interests.

Even with my emaciated, paper mache shield, I'm not giving up my MagSorc.

Well I don't exactly play one class, as I play 3 mainly but nevertheless I'm not chasing the META, I play one of my 3 "main" classes MagSorc, Magblade and Magplar, which one I play currently is determined by my mood e.g. Summerset when sorcs were ridiculusly strong I stopped to play sorc and switched to magblade, eventhough sloads were everywhere and it have been breaking cloak all the time.
