Why do you play a female character?

Let's not pretend that we don't know why. Kids now a days call them...
    xszpeTf.jpg

Anyways, I play for RP purpose hence why I mostly play male characters. As for males whom likes playing female well, it's probably the reason above.

I'm female and I play both female and male characters. Why? Because I do not see my characters a representation or extension of me.. so why should I only play female characters? I decide what gender of character I want to make, think about what their personality might be like, and what they might look like when I'm in character creation in the game. I do have more female characters (10) than male characters (5) but it just ended up that way. As I get more character slots that might even out some.. or it might not. Only time will tell.

I will say that as a female, I do like playing male characters because I get no guys asking me weird stuff or trying to "get to know me". That is very freeing in the game for me.

@Perwulf or its maybe cuz we dont like to stare for the next 10-15 hours at a dudes butt? at least I for one dont...reason why I play female characters in all my 3rd person games and especially mmos...
doesnt matter how awesome you look in the front...in the end you just see the backside...so if I have to stare at someones butt for half the day...then it better be a woman's...sure in my case that would be khajiit...I guess this goes into the furry topic but you get the idea.

Woman here, i play both, and the primary reason for playing female toons is the aesthetics

the default male run animation is... special

The male proportions are also really funky with super noodle legs no matter what I do, and it’s hard to make one look lithely muscled instead of a squareish beefcake

What race do you want, I’ll post how to do it. It’s easiest for me on an Imperial because they can be any faction.

I can also make Reguards look like Nords.
    OsjKquS.jpg
Most Imperials fought for Daggerfall Covenant just like all Shadowscales fought for them as well so it makes sense for Argonians in DC as well.

DC is the most convenient faction ti fight for since they believe in equality for all races. My main Nord Warden is DC and it's very easy to roleplay any race for that reason especially in 200 years when Tiber Septim arrives, the Nords join him because they believe he is Dragonborn.

TL/DR: DC wants to keep Imperial rule on the throne and Tiber ends up tanking the throne anyways. Imperials fought for DC so they really dont roleplay well any faction other than DC.

    Pretty much this.

As a guy, if you've put some time into this game (and some of us have put 5+ years in) then you at least want to play something that's attractive.

Don't have any Khajiit characters myself ... likely to change though with the extra character slot(s) when Elsweyr drops.

I have 8 characters I play as often and 3 are women and 5 are men. I usually prefer playing as men. I like creating attractive characters and dressing them in nice outfits and such. Although I will add even though I have less female characters I still buy most crown store outfits for my ladies than my men.

I am not a man, so the question isn't really for me. But most people who enjoy playing as the opposite gender because it's fun to experience something different and look at something attractive. It really is as simple as that.

    I don't. I find it weird. I'd play a gay male character before I play a female character (I'm a straight male).

I'll only play a female character if she is "cooler"/stronger (either physically or in terms of personality) than the male character (the more feminine the female character is, the less likely I am to play as her).

When I first started I knew nothing of lore and RP so I created my characters using the random feature and alternated male and female characters because I also knew nothing of how either is affected by game play.

I play PC-EU and NA and my main on each server are magsorcs, one is female, the other male. My secondaries include a female DK and a male NB (my original main but now crafter) and they are as such simply because that's how they fell in place when I first created them. Occasionally I'll mess around with leveling a templar on each server and one is female and the other male.

I appreciate the aesthetics one can achieve with outfits and armor but I don't like the way the males are built, especially while riding on the mounts. All the characters look funny running too, it's very similar to the way characters run in the original Scooby Doo cartoons.
If you are angry about anything in this game you are only punishing yourself.

I have 20 (or.... I think it's 21 now....) toons. ONE of them is male. There's a reason he exists. I don't actually know what it is yet....

Seriously. I play fems because I'm female, and I've really never ever had any interest in pretending to be male in my entire 71 years of life, or in knowing what it's like to be male, or WANTING to be male instead of female (UGH.... nope).

Well.... Fao is... an experiment I guess....

I don't really play fems because I'm also female, there's plenty of games where I make a dude for roleplay reasons. It's 70% roleplay and 30% because girls are pretty and I like making pretty ladies.

I’m female and have 2 guys and 2 gals right now. My main character in any game is always a female, but after that I just enjoy thinking up cool character ideas. It’s kind of like writing a book but not? Just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean none of my characters can be guys - it just causes some people to call me he when they see me on those characters. Like others have noted, I'll sometimes play a female character in a single player game because I prefer to look at them.

But on the other hand, in a social game like ESO, I don't want other guys looking at me in that way, so all of my characters are male.

I’m a gay male and I only play female characters. I don’t believe I have a desire to be female irl, but I’m a huge feminist and love the idea of playing strong and powerful women. Plus a lot of fun outfit and hair options, not really sure. It’s odd, and a good question. I also won’t play any game that won’t let you play female. In games where you play multiple characters on a team, I will always try to make an all female team.

I lean more towards females usually in games though due to better looks usually.

I just have fun making characters. The first and second are male, then I started making females, then I made a couple of males, then I made more females.

I tried to give them all a unique look and just make what I thought looked good. It's all a matter of my mood when I created the character.

Honestly i think that there shouldn’t be any strange reasons for males to play females characters IF this wouldn’t be a MMORPG game where most of the time you ‘invest’ many hours and social interact with many strangers. If people wouldn’t have other options then its ok but having all female char or most of them means there are some other reasons and i think there are 3 main reasons why males do this:

    1. They want to experiment how it feels to role a female, this probably becouse in real life they feel crap like nobody wants them, so beeing a female makes them feel more desirable in general, it fits with their humor and its also a way to hide themselfs. Might seem offensive but honestly i think that reason why ppl play MMORPG is for compensate lacks they have in real life. So has to do more with identity problems they hide (same reason why many ppl in discord dont use mic or never talk)

    2. For troll other ppl and mind play on them
    3. Becouse also other males do it so is a trend

I have 8 male char and i think is ok to have 1-2 female char its not real life but honestly i dont understand why wanting most female char for look at her butt or whatever i think is a bit pathetic and dont think is the real reason in most cases.

I have two male and six female ... I mainly play one female ... Not because she's female but because class n skill wise she just happens to be my favourite ... But I do specifically pick male or female at character creation as I like to have either a back story or a name

1st male nightblade changed to female to see what if any was different about gender ... Conclusion other than asthetics nothing

2nd male Nord stamplar ... Fell in love with Templar

3rd female high elf magplar wife to Nord Templar living in riften but both fighting fir the queen

4th fat drunk male dragon knight ... Apart from the drunk personality pretty much a recreation of me ... Made by my daughter

5th female warden ... Daughter to drunk DK
    Paybacks a *** kiddo ... lmao

6th nightblade female ... First NB was EP as I only PvP on AD I wanted a new one ... The name was more relevant to a female character ... Victoria Sylvanno or similar ... Translated as victory from the woods ...she's a wood elf

7th is female sorc , my daughter was telling me a story about a witch and I quite liked the name so when I wanted a sorc it was a female and an apology for the snotty nosed warden I created

8th female Argonian Templar ... Could easily have been male but then name felt more feminine

She dresses only in green as she is daughter of colourblind parents who named her Three Colours Red

Chances are I will have a female necromancer ... Evil old hag based on my ex wife

Yes, I play for RP. From the gazillion roles available to me to play I most often choose the roles of females I find attractive, intelligent and interesting in all aspects that matter.

As far as roleplaying is concerned, I would love to see you explaining to my Alyona al-Elinhir below that she is actually an underaged girl:
    S1gKxhz.png

I would prefer to watch the scene from a safe distance, if you won't mind.

Also, yes, I enjoy watching her butt while she is conducting her common neighbourhood heroine business. And, you know, Alyona has enough self-confidence to actually enjoy the attention. :p
