Nord vs Redguard

Hi everyone, as I'm sure you are all aware we will be getting a race change token with the next DLC. I only really use one character and currently I am Imperial (Pact) and Imperial isn't looking great for the next patch, they're still good though don't get me wrong. I play pretty much all aspects of the game on my main, a StamDK, but I rarely try high-end PvE, I enjoy PvP mostly. I was wondering, what do you think would be the best race for a StamDK in PvP? Nord is looking really strong, with increased Ultimate regen (essential for a DK) as well as massive resistance buffs, however I already run Heavy armour and Bloodspawn, so I feel I might just be going over the cap. Redguard however is looking strong as ever, with great sustain, and Stamina.

I am in the EP but don't have a problem using a non lore friendly race (sorry!)

Hey! I can only comment on a PvP basis, but that seems to be your main focus anyway.

Redguard has and will be still a very solid choice for any stamina brawler class because of its innate high sustain which is so important in PvP. This can also allow your build to focus on other aspects more, such as building for more damage.

Nords will be very interesting next patch though. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is a cap to Ultimate generation, so you shouldn't worry about that. Also, their increased defence passive will give them more freedom to use medium armour and still have similar resistances to heavy (with maybe one or two protective jewellery traits), giving you much more weapon damage which stacks really nicely with the DK class through its access to major and minor brutality.

Ultimately though it is your choice. The nice thing about PvP in ESO is you can make almost anything work! But I think both Redguard and Nord will be solid choices for stamina DK next patch.

My main is also a tank <pve/pvp> Imperial StamDK <he used to be health DK, but I got bored and this build will obviously get a nerf anyway>. I'm going to use a free token to change his race to Nord. Why? Because I have never had stamina issues when tanking, while ultimate generation and almost 4k resistance sounds really good. You can use proc sets like Fury & Seventh Legion, go sword & board, stay tanky, take damage, generate ult, fury procs, swap bars to 2h, forward momentum, Critical Rush, noxious breath, dizzying swing + dawnbreaker + executioner and done

Nord will have more resistances
Redguard will have cheaper dizzying swing and spell wall

Nord will be better PvE tank and Redguard will be better PvE damage dealer
