Login timeout - EU Megaserver

tomas02061991b16_ESO
After the downtime all that I get, when i try to login is a "login timeout" I have checked that my launcher is on the EU megaserver, that should be up by now. I saw on these forums something about IP authentication, which I know nothing about. I have not been promted by anything, and haven't got any email. But what could cause this problem? timeout should only be if the server was down, shouldn't it?

EDIT: I fixed this problem by rapairing the client.

it's frustrating because I don't know if the server is down or up.
There needs to be a Status message on the login screens so we don't waste our time if it is down.
Also - what gives with the constant need to re-authenticate via easily missed email messages. Most EU ISPs have dynamic IP allocation so they are constantly changing, virtually everytime you log on your PC it will be new.

well to my understanding the server should be up, and that's why is wierd. I haven't been promt to authenticate my ip though, so that can't be the problem.

I have now waited, I dont know how many hours. It is early morning, the server should be up, and the load should be very little. Why do I still get login timeouts? This is starting to annoy me, I must say.

I have the same problem, trying to figure it up in this thread

I suspect the patch did some bad things to my client.

    2. Close the launcher
    3. Re-open the launcher
    4. Allow the launcher to completely install any updates
    5. Log in to the game

Launcher says the game is up to date.

What is the current version? Please tell me so I should know if I should just reinstall it.

Try to repair the client. you can do this, if you click on the little gear in the launcher right above the announcements .

then try to do what Jhugo was suggesting. open your client folder, and rename the ProgramData folder to something else like ProgramDataBackup, and then try the launcher again. People say that it should update probably then

First repair broke the game, then one did nothing, then 3rd fixed the issue.

    It's MAGIC

I was getting this error as well and my game appeared up to date. But, I was not actually using the launcher, but instead trying to run the game from eso.exe (I began this habit when trying to bypass launcher errors in other games) When I used the launcher instead, it updated the game and I got right in. Ensure you are actually using the launcher when you attempt to start up the game.
