What is the Value of Finding Lore Books?

A couple of threads I have noticed argued for Lore Books (among other things) should be account wide. Some people argue against that.
This raises the question for me (only playing since last Black Friday with the Summerset deal: What is the value of finding Lore Books past the achievements? Why would anyone oppose those being account wide?
I am not trying to argue the issue here, just figure out what value finding Lore Books adds. I do pick them up when I find them, but I have yet to look explicitly for them.

The passive skill "Magicka Controller" is also a nice boost to DPS. Shooting Star used to also be the best ultimate in the game. You are correct. 10 points for the dalies and 5 for the lorebooks. Controversial opinion. I wish we didn't all have to slot mage light for a passive effect. Yeah but if finding lore books was account wide either new characters would start with that skill line fully levelled because a previous one had found the books, or they'd be unable to use lore books at all and would have to use dailies to level it.
