Why was I Immediately billed for my subscription

I thought the game came with a free 30 day sub? I put my credit card in for the subscription and I'm about 99% sure it said I will be on May 7th, not April. They already took the money from my account, so what happened to my 30 days that came with the game?

Also on my account homepage is says "You will be billed on May 7, 2014 for $41.97" Why would I be billed next month if I already payed 41.97 for a 3 month subscription this month.

Look at the very first post in this forum. The one that reads "Bank Account Being Charged?"

Thank you, I looked all around for this and didn't find it lol. I even went through 3 pages of post, I must be blind.

To answer your question, it's happened to a bunch of people and it's one of the reasons I'm not subscribing. The $15 dollar surcharge is to verify your bank. Yeah I know it's a arm and a leg from what Game Devs usually charge but supposidly they did this to hinder gold farmers which really don't need to subscribe, they just hack peoples accounts. But know how already inexperienced Zenimax is, they wouldn't know this. Zenimax also charges you for a month in advance which I am not agreeing to and a lot of players have already reported that the surcharge has been refunded but put back on as a subscription charge. My advice, just cancel your sub. It's not worth it, not for this game. I myself played through beta access and early access but I'm not supporting Zenimax any further because of this. This content update they put out isn't even going to convince me.

The word has already been heard...in a few dozen other threads.

It happened because they want your money. Plain and simple. Was hoping they would be different from other games, but they have proven that money trumps customer service yet again. They got me too and still have not responded with an answer as to why.

Check you account in a few days, or contact your financial institution. If an overdraft fee occurs because of the charge, it will be reversed. Furthermore, your statement is false. Zenimax is not receiving the authorization hold funds.

Have already contacted the bank. The transaction is complete (not pending) according to them. It was pending all weekend until this morning. Which means they got the money. So looks like my statement isn't so false after all. Maybe your ego will allow you to admit you don't know everything after all.

Okay, I'll ignore the ad hominem. An authorization charge is not the same as a pending transaction. An authorization will show up as a charge like any other, unless there is a merchant code that specifies otherwise in the register (banks usually can not see this information either, all they see is a charge was made). The amount is charged back and the amount is cleared. So the authorization was pending, then cleared your account. If, in a few days, the amount doesn't drop, then you have every right to file a recovery with your financial institution's fraud department. Either way, if you were entitled to 30 free days of game time, and barring any electronic error, then that authorization charge is not being "deposited" into a Zenimax account.
