Why Are We Paying For Voice Actors That No One Listens To!?

See title.

Seriously, why can't you put quest-givers outside of dungeons so that I can listen to the voice actor's work without feeling guilty? I assume that some of my money is going to their salary, yes? I suggest either saving the money by not hiring the voice actors, or keep the dialogue out of the dungeon.

    You dont speak for everyone.

I do still listen to them sometimes when its been a while since Ive done them.

Id rather they had the dialog in a dungeon as voice and no reading so I could at least hear it when chasing after the group rushing through it

Not only that, they also “waste time” animating custom emotions on the npcs. Might as well have them stand still with a flat face and painted on features. You could be using all that animation work hours on other things Zos! /sarcasm

That you choose to not listen to their work is one thing.

Suggesting a removal of all voice work from within dungeons is another.

The first is entirely your choice, which I completely support. The second affects everyone and can take a long walk off a short pier.

I love the voice acting in the game. I understand everyone is different but I can't imagine (at least to me), how boring I would find the game without the voice-overs of the NPCs. This game would not be the same without the NPCs voice-overs (imho).

I "hear" every NPC in the game. In my own mind. I find the choice of actors usually not to my liking. I far prefer my own mental voicing....

Of course, since I can turn all the voices off, I really can't complain. Except that yes, it does seem that actors don't get paid as much as they should.

@max_only I'm pretty sure it's automated. I remember seeing a demo of the system after they updated it shortly after release.

Because ESO is a fully voiced game (excluding players characters, but they even make various vocalizations), and that fact makes it better than just just some lines of text. You can just hop through the voice lines if you’re so against it. No one said you had to listen to them.

But except in Vaults of Madness. I try to not do the quest there because the NPCs take 3 years to talk.

voice actors are wonderful and we should get more of them.
maybe start an effective training program to acquire noob voice actors for lesser cost? yes, diversity!

I saw a suggestion for a story mode version of dungeon. I guess one that can be replayed just for quest, and not necessarily for leveling or gear.

If you want to rush content and not listen to the voices, please feel free.

There are many like myself who love the voice & movement acting, even of I have done that quest 6-8 times, I just go through the whole dialogue. Same applies to dungeons. Is shame that ZoS doesn't give us the option to do the dungeons Solo also, because there are many stories I want to follow through, though rushers like yourself make that impossible.

And lets be honest. Without Chris Smith voice, Razum-dar wouldn't be the coolest NPC in any MMO ever, followed by Cider Tail, while Shazah's voice just amazing.

Do you ever wonder if ZOS only reads titles on this forum? I'm getting weird little shudders of panic thinking that someone in the marketing dept. is going to see this and think, "What a great idea!" :D

Courtney Taylor voiced Shazah and about 75% of the female Khajiits in the game. She's awesome! She's the voice of Juhani in KOTOR. There's so much amazing talent in this game. Kath Soucie, the female smuggie in SWTOR, voices Naryu Virian.

    I know right?

I hate it when games add stories to their quests! All quests should just be point A to point B mindless killing sprees!

That's the sign of a perfect game, let's also delete all of the NPCs in the process. /sarcasm
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.
