You know this poll is going to heavily skewed by non sorcs. That just don’t like pets

    This.

Please let there be at least one pet. If you want to play a magical pet class without pets you could always play magwarden and see how well that ended up.

I do think they need to add alternate pet images. I wouldn't mind a mini ice atro as my heal pet or so.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Twilight.
I like the IDEA of pets... but in practice they can be a little annoying. The whole aesthetic and class feel of summoning daedra is cool and I like the unique feel if gives to sorcs... but...

She will go through periods of just randomly disappearing in trials and dungeons. Sometimes I can go through a dungeon or trial without any issues, other times I've had to resummon her in a fight she's never disappeared in before, often SEVERAL times. It can be really hard to keep track of her during trials especially, so I'll go to burst heal someone who maybe ate a bad aoe or something and there I am in a cast animation that could potentially get someone killed.

I also detest the fact that we have to double-bar. It's such an outdated, clunky mechanic and there are a lot of times where one extra skill on my bars would let me bring the utility I want, especially in trials where I kite-heal and like to add streak onto my bars.

Their appearance a little outdated, too. I wish they would update them and even maybe add different skins we can use. This would almost certainly be a crown store cosmetic feature, but tbh I would pay to be able to turn my Twilight into another, less obtrusive daedra that's not always in your face if you don't unsummon at crafting stations.

I like the idea of having pets and when they work - they work great. I do NOT like that controlling pets in this game is just... the worst. so pets are either awesome or annoying depending on any given moment. there is no in between. (for example, if I could actualy properly control my pet, I could tell them to be passive without heavy attacks negating it, I could have better control over which mob they are attacking instead of random mob to the side somewhere, half the time and most importantly I could tell them to STAY, so that when I'm doing crafting writs - they don't keep getting in a way)
    dirty worthless casual.

For my magSorc? Yeah, somewhat. Particularly for PvP. For my tank, not usually. For my StamSorc, I'm always disappointed I don't have a pet.

That said, everything swings a storm attro. That thing is a bundle of fun and exploded foes.

Kinda, sometimes... They have their uses. Like helping the healer in a dungeon or something. VMA. Beyond that I dont find much uses for them.

They are not a fun mechanic for me. They get in the way most of the time.

If you use them for target distraction in PVP that can be effective to a degree, but still annoying to use as they are always in the way.

I like the fire and forget pets. The Warden are this way and the new Necro pets will be nice.

It just doesn't appeal to me - having to double bar every summons really eats into the already limited bar space that Sorcs deal with.

The only classes that really work for me with 2000+ ms lag are pet classes. I double bar mine. I wish the matriarchs were much smaller, but that's the only caveat I have. I dismiss mine before going into a town. And yeah, talk about a skewed setup for a poll.

Do you use them for trials/dungeons or just vMA? I use the matriarch in vMA just because we don’t have access to another burst heal, but I hate using them for anything else. You give up so much by double barring them, and they’re extremely clunky and cause los problems in group settings imo.

I liked to play summoner in Skyrim and the concept is cool.
However, for some reason ZoS chose the ugliest Daedra for ESO and double slotting them is a bit annoying.

That’s pretty much how I feel about them too. I use the matriarch in vMA because sorcs don’t have another option for a burst heal, but overall I think they’re extremely annoying and cause tons of los issues.

I like the idea, I hate the implementation.
They need to be instant cast, 30 second duration. So they require 1 bar. NOT two.

I can still remember the very first time I saw a matriarch and it took me by surprise, I thought it looked so stunningly beautiful that I decided to make a Sorc character and I levelled it as fast as I could to get the matriarch. I still think visually they're really stunning to look at.

I have 2 Sorc - neither one used pets past the initial first levels to level the skill line and provide some defense early on. I don't recall morphing any of them and have never once summoned a Winged Twilight.

Just not my bag at all.

Use to play with pets when I first started but now I've gone pet-less for a while I dont think I could go back, I feel so free without them.

Running pets is a mixed bag. Both good and bad. They make it a tiny bit harder for you to be targeted in a tight place, but you won't get any advantage from that in PvE, but the negative drawbacks are higher than the positive ones. Needing to double bar them limits the amount of dps/utility abilities you have available to you. They should seriously consider reworking pets to function after swapping bars. So they don't need to be dual slotted. It gets boring really fast.

My main pve build is a pet sorc. Reliable and easy to use 45k dps with offheals. Sure, a LA rotation with spell strat/soria and on a NB will parse higher but its nice having an easy rotation

Places Ive gone with it: all crag HM, vAS, vMOL, vDSA, vBRP vHof (currently doing progression there)

Honestly, it might be due to my experience with them, but I have zero problems in a group with them. Just need to know when to command them back

Personally, I think they're annoying to use and not worth double barring. I'd honestly love to see them removed or reworked to be temporary summons that do something and then go away, similar to the warden netch and the upcoming necromancer skills.

Aka Id rather see them nerfed into the ground guys

I like them; they're my trusty companions who never complain and who heal me whenever I want healing.

I try to remember to unsummon them when I'm at crafting stations and bankers so as not to annoy people too much.

To be fair it is designed as a pet class. I mean a sorc w/o a pet is basically a lower DPS NB, but at least they can slot conduit for Alkosh?

I hate pets, I started playing sorc as a matter of convenience lol. I was farming levels and the pets made it far easier.

Even as nb is my favourite class, I'm still cool with sorcs

Being a pet sorc was fun, but it's innefective in PvP against good players.

Back when clannfear actually tanked things several of us used pet builds to solo trial bosses and get dungeons and we're probably the reason why there are so many jank mechanics in the game right now.

Battlegrounds inspired a new level of despise for pets. Healthbars fetching everywhere. Once had a game with SIX PET SORCS. That's 24 sodding pets when atro and daedroths are out.

1v1, a pet sorc drops easy enough. Kill twilight and interrupt the recast = dead animal herder.
