I will be testing Wrathstone with a new character

I've made a new toon with a class I'm unfamiliar with (sorc) and will be testing Wrathstone when it launches on the PTS. I'll won't apply CP. To be a little reasonable, I will grind a little to fill my action bar and get used to a new weapon, but I won't be skyshard hunting or level grinding. I should be level 5 when I start the dungeon.

I am doing this to see what the experience for new players will be like. Wrathstone is the beginning of the Elsweyr main quest and it should be accessible to new players, or bad players, or role-players, or the infirm, or the casual. "Get good" doesn't apply when it's being sold as the beginning of the new chapter.

I'm also interested to see what the story will be like for a new player, since it seems to hinge on the player having knowledge of Tharn and the three banners war, which a new player will not. Hell, I started with Morrowind and played Summerset and haven't touched the original main questline. I don't know anything about Tharn and I've been playing for almost a year. I'll post my experience here later.

ZOS, you are playing a dangerous game with this Dungeon thing. Surely you can sense the community's anxiety about this.
Gwynauldynn. Crafter. Merchant. Guildmaster. Adventurer.
Uthastyan. Corporal of the Lion Guard, abroad for the glory of the Covenant.
Dra'arah. This one picks pockets.
Sleeps-With-The-Fishies. You want a soul gem filled? Pheh. My pleasure.
Vanyonah Telvanni. Born an ashlander. Destined for greatness.

Thank you! I was afraid that how accessible or not these dungeons are on normal difficulty might get lost in the stampede to test the new super extra mega hard mode.

I'm hosting normal runs for one of my guilds when it hits live, so we can run it slowly to experience the story. Almost impossible to do quests properly otherwise! Hoping to be able to arrange things so everyone who wants to can complete them, no matter what level

Don’t you have to be minimum lvl 10 for dungeons?

I know some have their own level limit but I think 10 is lowest.

Good luck and post your findings please as I will be interested in reading.

To queue for dungeons yes, technically you can walk into nHoF at level 5....I should know
Since everyone seems to be doing this,
    DPS Builds:

Actually by game standards you should be level 45 btw. Its a DLC dungeon. Its a little unfair when the devs put a level limit on random que and you walk in 40 levels lower and claim to balance it on that. Might as well make it Fungal Grotto 1 - The Grotto returns at that point.

    DLC normal base is 45.
    DLC vet is 300.

If you pre-made you can however walk in, but its kinda doubtful most random newbies will sit in town LFGing in zone chat rather than <Insert grind spot here> or questing.

When I first started playing I wandered into spindleclutch 1 by myself thinking it was a delve and I've been afraid of spiders ever since...

How about first you take a level 5 with garbage gear to FG1 and see how that goes for you? That way you actually have a baseline to compare to. DLC dungeons are built to lvl45...THAT is the level character you should run it with for as real comparison. Considering I have run both the normal werewolf dungeons with friends who just started in the mid 20s level just fine, I doubt you will have any trouble if your group is halfway competent.(and yes, they did all the DPS(if you want to call it that), all I did was tank)

    You missed the point.

There isn’t a story mode in this game.

Zos are locking important STORY behind a dungeon.

Eso players are notorious for skipping all the story, or lingering for all the story, and those two groups will never see eye to eye.

Op is going to try this dungeon on a baby character to see if the Story players can enjoy it without the story skippers that flood the queue and ruin a perfectly good dlc.

FG1 is not advertized as the beginning of the story.

I like the idea of a solo difficulty that allows players to experience the story of the dungeon without feeling like they're holding up the group. Though it should not award as much loot imo. I usually skip the character dialogue of each dungeon because I don't wanna be "that guy" who is "wasting peoples time" even though I don't agree with that statement.

If they go through with this locking stories behind DLC dungeons then I already regret pre-ordering Elsweyr and never touching the damn dungeon.
