Could you all check inside the Launcher folder please? Can you see two folders one name ProgramData and another one ProgramDataBackup?

    Yep - got those

Same thing here - my wife has been playing the game throughout the day, but when I try to log in now, having just come home from work, it times out.

It is authenticating my password; I get a different error message if I put in an intentionally incorrect password.

Otherwise, I'll try renaming my ProgramData folder. Two things to note for right now - I have only a single version of this folder and the launcher did not initiate any type of patching.

For reference, this is on Windows 8 x64 and running the same install I used from beta.

Update - the renaming trick worked for me, at least after an additional step.

I renamed ProgramData to ProgramDataBackup and ran the launcher again. Unfortunately, I was still timing out for logging in and no new ProgramData folder was created.

I canceled the login attempt and quit to the launcher, at which point a ProgramData folder did appear in the install directory.

I then closed the launcher and opened it again (this may or may not be needed) and the game did then proceed to patch itself. I am typing this atop my character selection screen so this is no presumably fixed.

A launcher that doesn't always download the latest patch is a serious problem.

FIXED. When you launch the launcher in the middle of it there is a news section with a little gear symbol that says game options.
-click and select check for updates
-should then say repair, click and after that it should download the update
-you might be able to just hit repair first but the above steps got it working for me
-FYI the first time I logged in I got in and it crashed immediately had to login twice but all is good now

Been there - done that. Nada - except to tell me there's an error and the files are already 'in use' by another application. and the quit the game.....which I can't log into......head-->desk

Look in your task manager at the Processes tab. If you see "eso.exe" then end that process. After that the game should repair.

Repairing from the launcher does fix this error I just used it to fix someones game.

Wish I saw this earlier. I had the same "Already in use" error in the beginning too.

Search for something along the lines of "ZO Crash Recorder". End that process tree, then repeat all the previous steps.
