I'd like a truthful answer to this question from the ZOS team here.

So you said one of your goals with the racial passive changes was to have more versatility for roles and classes for each race.
Having said that,

How then do you justify these changes you are proposing for each race?
Are you not further typecasting them to fit a certain mold or class?

What then becomes of versatility for each race for preference of classes?
Are we then forced to be screwed over just because say a player wants to play a Redguard MagSorcerer?

What say you ZOS team?

they say GET over it or play redguard magsorc just don't expect damage to be as good as a race that is better with magic :)

That's not what they promised with Racial Passive changes man. They promised that it would make races more versatile in other class roles. I see the total opposite of this happening with these changes.

I haven't agreed with you on other things. But I certainly agree with you on this. They are doing the complete opposite of what they said they were going to do.

Khajiit can now perform magic roles better than before and Dunmer can perform stam roles better now. Other than that, I don't see more role diversity either.

Every update ZOS nerfs character power to account for powercreep, and flips the meta on its end so you all have to re-gear. In the process they hope to keep all their KPIs up, daily logins etc.

I wish they would kick the marketers off the design team but unfortunately it looks like they are getting rid of the actual designers instead.

I am sick of getting my characters power sucked out of him every patch just to balance the champion system and the all powerful gear you are going to add to the next expansion that will be tons more powerful than the last gear.

Everyone used to run Julianos and willpower. That's about 500 spell damage. Now ZOS introduced spell strategist and Siroria, which added 1100 spell damage. That's over a 100% increase in spell damage available from gear.

So you are paying for that decision with a loss of about 2000 magicka to your max stat. I hate the system but it is what it is.

What I'd like to see with racial passives is a choice. You make a version of the same attribute passives available to everyone ( same thing but names vary by race) but you can only choose 3 from a choice of 6 (Health, Health regen, Stamina, Stam regen, Magicka, Mag regen) Then you make each race something unique like resistance or buff to things like Poison, Cold, Fire, Speed, Use of potions....

Then it would be more like some of the older Elder Scrolls games in that being born under certain signs could make up for the race you were born as. This way, you can't choose everything as your choices are limited but everyone could fashion a viable build with any race. I'd like Magicka, Magicka regen, and Health regen please or Stamina, Health and Magicka regen... you get the idea

I love this idea! Reminds me of the old Might and Magic system they had or even the SSI games like Eye of the Beholder...

Oh the dream. It would make ESO actually like an Elder Scrolls game. That would be the perfect thing to do and would be exactly what they said they wanted to do which is create diversity between the races. But it's obvious that was a lie.

They are not concerned with doing that at all. But just getting a quick influx of cash from race change tokens. They know people have a lot of characters and know for a fact that 1 token is no where near enough for people that need to race change.

Most got buffed or no changes in this update except Argonians and Dunmer got an nerf.
Some builds like an altmer pet sorc with necro or an khajiit with high stamina regen get an small nerf.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I don't remember needing to put points in racial bonuses for either skyrim or morrowind. Which elders scrolls game did you played? Was it a mod?

At the end of the day, they had to balance out both the lore and game play. It's just unfortunate that racial bonuses are just... That. Bonuses.

We already had a top tier Khajit tank / healer before even all these changes (which is funny since the changes haven't even gotten on pts yet smh) were written.

/shrug. Adapt I guess. Don't need to race change because I'd rather reroll than pay money.

I don't think this would be a new player friendly system.

I think the question would be what system should the creators use to balance the races.
This wasn't a scam for race change tokens, I think they were genuinely trying to make the races across all Alliances valid options for all classes while keeping them lore friendly.
Maybe a Nord isn't the best choice for one class but there is a race in the Ebonheart pact that would fit the bill.

D&D has a point system for applying passives to each race in order to keep them balanced out with each other. You don't want an overpowered race.
I love playing an Argonian but you have to admit that 3% return on potions for all stats was overpowered

Each alliance has 3 races plus the Imperial. Sure plenty of people have the option to pick any race no matter the alliance. However, I don't think they want a system in place where the one race out of all of the alliances are the best choice for a specific class.
