Would you like to have a class change token available, now that we're getting yet another new class?

    I'd like more character slots.

I like having 3 of each class (1 tank, 1 magicka, 1 stam build of each) and would like to continue the trend if Necromancer is a full class.

I'd also like to have new guys to level up, I enjoy it to an extent.

Class change tokens are definitely something that should be considered. Other great games with classes, such as Star Wars Galaxies, benefited from class changes, and ESO would as well.

I would never buy a character slot, but I would absolutely buy class change tokens :)

I’d like a class change simply for the fact of: I’d like my main toon, with all my achievements and titles to be a class I enjoy playing.

People usually have their very first toon as their main, and so all the quests on it.. end up not using the class for pve/pvp or not enjoying it.

Or at least make titles and PvP rank (per alliance, of course) account wide.. Then people could care less about a change token

Buuut hey ZOS that would be a lot of crown sale and $$$$ if you implement a class change 😉😉

This is easy money for ZOS and has no negative impact to the game.

    - People who chase the fotm will have all classes stam/mag anyways because the meta will probably change every time a DLC/Chapter is released.

    - As long as it's priced substantially higher than a new character slot ZOS loses no money.

If ZOS doesn't wants to add this to the crown store because they would rather have you make a new character and keep you playing longer, then they can simply add a new ''class change ticket fragment'' to one day of the monthly rewards and have a hard cap on how many tickets you can have on your account so for example if after 3 months I have 3 ''class change ticket fragments'' I can combine those 3 fragments with a crown store consumable to change class, OR I can just keep them but I will not be able to receive more, they can even make them expire after a certain amount of time so you can't just hold them indefinitely.

All I want are at least 2 more character slots, Leveling, doing Undaunted, Mage Guild etc. will give me an incentive to play the game to its full extent again and maybe have some fun along the way.

You can be functional in ~100 hours, and you only have to do it once (per character). This has already been covered.

Nobody is talking about being or not being functional. It would take you years to grind all achievements and doing every single world event and quest in the game.

This thread isn't about making endgame functional alts at all. But rather keeping all you've done on a character that you care about.

This isn't about me either. I'm doing this very same thing on EU because I can't play on NA anymore. I miss my character and I know it will take forever.

I have never understood the logic behind allowing Race changes but Not allowing Class changes.

You can easily change your vocation.
    You can’t change your ancestry.

We should have had Class change token from the start. It’s Race change tokens that shouldn’t exist. 😑

Honestly this should've been a thing for years already. There are so many players who love to stick to their one special character, that gets all the attention and with the scale of things this game has to offer it's impossible to just make a new character with the same worth as the last.

Think of not just leveling a new character from 1-50... That's not the issue.

What makes us want a class change are things like:
    1) Completed quests, adventures
    2) Earned personal achievements
    3) Character's backstory/RP
    4) Earned skill lines & Skyshards
    5) PvP Rank and Titles
    6) Crafting Skills and Research progress
    7) Special connection with said character
    8) Time limitations for all of the above

And of course in some cases:

    9) Dissatisfaction with the direction of our main character's class or desire to try something new.

All of the things in these points above can take up to months and even years to replicate on a fresh start character. Something so complicated and time consuming that many of us would rather quit the game than do all of this all over again, if we suddenly lost our main characters.

Can we please consider this? ZOS? The profit for you is that this would generate insane amounts of revenue. Especially if implemented well.
I think all players having completed Caldwell’s Gold on a character should unlock one class change token to that character as a reward for completing such a feat. If they monetize them, price it at 5000 Crowns and I won’t mind as much.
This way people will keep making alts too. If you worry too much about it anyway - include a 6/12 month cooldown. Let dedicated main character players enjoy their side of the endgame as well. Thanks @Sheezabeast!

I have seen this sort of thing in other mmos and it hurts the game. Players start jumping around to different classes without fully understanding the 1st one.

Almost anything worth a damn is account wide in this game. Leveling takes very little effort and the second a character hits 50, they are very nearly ready to go minus the guild and world skill uunlocks. Get off your asses, level up a character and throw some damn purple gear on them that would otherwise be collecting dust in your bank stash.

I dont get it.. you are even remotely invested in this game at a dedicated core level, you will have multiple leveled or at the very least understand full well how easy it is to do so. If you are as casual as humanly possible, why on earth would willingly pay to skip the entire leveling process to begin with?

I hope for the simple sake of not conforming to lazy entitled desires and for the sake of the games integrity that zos turns a deaf ear to this one.

Holy cheese, what got you so angry about a simple suggestion with logical & legitimate reasoning?

I hope you're not trying to derail the thread or try to trigger others :/

We simply want the option to class change, with reasonable requirements, so we can enjoy our main characters just like others enjoy their alts or hardcore endgame. We roleplay, we enjoy the story, we stick to a single character cause it's a majestic journey.

Like I suggested in the OP, there can be a cooldown. About 6 or 12 months, or as others suggested, allow class change after Cadwell's gold. There's no reason not to allow it, since ZOS could only gain from this.

At this stage, I don't want another toon, I want to convert my mag warden into a mag necro.

I’d be interested to see how many people actually purchase the extra stuff for new characters from the crown store. There are in-game XP boosts, so that’s not necessary. The mount speeds I can see happening. You don’t need a ton of bag space if you’re leveling tons of characters.
Edit: and by purchase, I mean purchase extra crowns, not using stored up crowns from subbing.

RP even moreso. If you are invested in RPing, leveling a character should be a highlight.

It has to do with catering to a demographic that cant be bothered with playing the game. It has nothing to do with being an alt-holic. If you play this game habitually, you are likely well past 160, have access to training trait gear, ambrosias, exp scrolls and purple gear to make leveling an afterthought. Between that and the numerous double exp events throught the year, how on earth does one not have various other classes leveled. If you play so little that you have access to none of the above then why are you even spending money on such a thing and not just playing the content.

It is a redundant unnecessary request.

But no, i did not drop my ice cream and no one peed in any of my treats. Clearly im just getting too old for this and beging the early stages of "back in my day" territory. If you want the benefits of something, you have to put in the work for it. And in ESOs case, said work is paltry. Instead we have an audience that would sooner ask for another way to be charged money on the crown store.

And for what little its worth, if zos was foolish enough to incorporate a change token, rest assured that necro would be omitted from the service for at least a few months

I hope for the simple sake of not conforming to lazy entitled desires and for the sake of the games integrity that zos turns a deaf ear to this one.

    ..... class change token....

    Ffs.

Jesus did you drop your ice cream bro?

It seems you didn't even read what the op wrote, it has nothing to do with leveling, its more of a RP matter, it is an rpg after all.

I don't see how implementing something that you can choose not to use can screw your experience so bad as you depicted

I still don't get why you're so triggered, why do YOU dictate if people should be into alt making, questing, rping or what the hell pleases them?

You see, you really are getting old, this "others having stuff that i think they shouldnt" reminds me back of the old prejudice days of america. Until you got _ZoS in you username, i couldn't care less about your tantrum.

Alright then how do you excuse appearance change, race change and gender change???

Magic?? Changing vocation is possible even without magic.

Isn't this prejudice thing still largely present all over the world these days, even more in some places than it used to?

Surely feels like it. :/ I don't even understand what makes people think like that. Then again I don't understand tons of stupid crap people do, believe in and even put up with daily.

To all the people who say nobody would play this game if we had class change tokens, why do people play FFXIV? You can change your class whenever you want in that game yet their population is just as healthy as ESO's, if not healthier.
