This isn't WoW broski. Staff is the traditional weapon of any wizard in The Elder Scrolls franchise. It's actually going to be weird seeing Necromancers using heavy armor, shields, and melee weapons.
The same as the rest of the classes, which ever weapon you prefer. This isn't one of those games that pigeon holes your class into a certain weapon type.
