Upon logging into the game and getting to the character select screen I constantly get Unknown Error messages kicking me back to the login screen. This can happen at the character selection, during loading, or during play, but if I am play I can login for about 2 minutes of game time before getting kicked back to the login screen with this error. No other error shows up though, no specific error code. I have reset my connection settings, restarted my router, flushed my dns settings, opened and forwarded all the ports stated by several different sources yet I am still getting this error. However during beta and early access this error never appeared even once.

this started happening to me today (april 7th) as well both before and after the short maintenance.
I log in, get to the character select screen, hit play, the zone loads then i get "unknown error" and pushed back to login.
repeated attempts eventually get me in the game1 -

This is really starting to get annoying. Random times, locations, what I am doing. Then when I log back in, I am usually in space and do a continuous free fall until I die.1 -

- EU players are humans too! We want our maintenances in the least pop time (at deep night) and not lasted for several hours!
- Animation canceR - is true PvP cancer! When you can't see which actions your opponent do - you can't react properly on them!

kraghSoul ShrivenYep, finally fixed retaking the pass, and went on to finally finish up greenshade, but everytime I try to enter Hectahame Grotto I DC with the message "unknown error" and I'm stuck again. Fantastic.0

AidenC✭I was in then got kicked and this is happening, i did notice i am running version 1.0.0.96, when 1.0.0.2 was supposed to be out after the maintenance, what version has everyone else got?

I can only put this down to the stupidity of uploading a patch at peak time. For all that is holy I hope Zenimax have learnt what a stupid idea this was.0 -
I've been getting this since the BETA days, very interesting to see people just starting to see it now.

AndimanSoul ShrivenFound this solution in another thread regarding a similar issue which worked for me:
Windows 7:
Click on the Start button
- Type cmd in the Start Menu
- Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter
- If it was successful, you will see the message "Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache."
- Power cycle the router to clear the cache so that it doesn't store the bad route

It was fine until I went in Crestshade Mine now when I try and leave I get this error and my character has become unplayable.
Now THIS is a game breaking issue ... seeing as my character is now useless.0 -

I have switched my router off completely for best part of an hour, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game completely. Beyond a joke now. Sat waiting for a call back from customer service for over 7 hours now.0

I've been sitting and watching runes getting old on my mule character for last hour cause this is the only one I can log onto.

TomLukman✭✭✭Flushing DNS and rebooting the router seems to have fixed the unknown error problem for me, but I still experience longer then usual loading times. Everything was fine before today's patch.0 -
