email authentication is a dumb idea, period. if you're gonna have millions of email to send all at once, for sure it's gonna go wrong. What the hell were you thinking
  • Negative39
I'm in fine as of right now, no worries, no issues, no authentication....
  • Muzzh

    lucky you. I ain't
  • Negative39
Yes, I wasn't showing off but it obviously isn't 'lies' either. I can see that there are many people in game right now so you have been unlucky, that's all.

Yeah, I'm not getting an authentication email either, I've "tried back in 10 minutes" twice now.

Well the fact that some have to make an authentication and some don't just makes it even worst ! They are even more stupid than I originally thought !

I tried patching and logging in the my secondary computer first, the one I had transferred the files to via USB drive to save bandwidth costs, and got the unrecognized IP address thing/confirmation e-mail. I decided then to exit after waiting a while for the e-mail with the confirmation code and patch up my primary install computer the one I actually downloaded the files to, and it worked straight away.

I did, after about a 20 wait receive the e-mail with the confirmation code however when I went back to log into my secondary computer it was no longer required. I was getting the unauthorized account message until the server actually went back online, after which log in was fine.

The email is a lie. It's all to cover them by not clogging the login server all at once. It's a selective random filter, there is never an email sent. You try again later, get in fine because there's less server traffic.

Now I don't know if that's true. But I wouldn't bet against it NOT being true.

Edit: and oddly enough, this was my 1st post on the forums since the game went live and got the email about my "1st post" badge IMMEDIATELY, like 5 seconds after posting.

I'm barred from my account. 2 times they've sent codes, THAT HAVE TIMED OUT.
    Am I being punked?
I tried logging in again, and got the log in munchkins mad, so now I'm banned from my account for trying to log in too many times
As far as launches goes............This is in the running for the worst yet. There are other bad ones, but you can't exclude ESO from the bunch any longer

There seems to be a delay between the patch process, the servers going up, and actually being able to log in after some semblance of stability returns.

I did run the Repair function after patching on both computers, and just saw in a different thread that this might help so perhaps try that.

Well my fiance, who sits right next to me, got in no problems. No authentication or anything. Meanwhile I've been trying for the last half hour to get in. Hmm...

It's vastly away from winning the worst launch award, I guess you've not been involved in many of them so you wouldn't know. It's been rough, yes, for some a pain, but until today I've not had any problem worth worrying about at this stage and I expect I'm in the majority: web forums aren't the places to judge.

I saw the early reports of problems on here . .I agree it totally sucks for those who got hit in the first 30 mins or so after the server came back .. but anyone with common sense should have realised that things were screwed and simply DONE SOMETHING ELSE till it's fixed.

It's under the Options button just over the News feeds, not the Options in the upper right of the launcher.

Tried this out and it worked for me. After trying to log in 3 times and getting an authorized computer for this account message, the game came right up after I used the repair feature.
