What makes nercomancers so appealing?

The cause and joke that never really died but always live in hearts ....but why?

Of all classes thought of this one became most appealing and my question is why? What about it lures people?

Note,
I made this thread because I wondered how other people thought about the nercomancer dream. For me I didn't caught understand my own desire but though minions, solo gameplay, hate people, anti social appeal.

I’ve always been drawn to necromancy. My favorite show is overlord. Dark Magic draw me in like a moth to a lamp and I have no idea why. I’m super excited for this class ❤️

I can name one reason why it became hugely popular in the past decade. Among other games too :) ( Not sure if I'm allowed to link this on forums)

Probably because of the anti hero type. Not following a strict moral compass to do what needs to be done. As well as not being afraid of using a dark art to crush our enemies threatening the peace and our way of life. Aside from that, Elder Scrolls before ESO allowed us to experience any type of magic without restriction regardless if it was outlawed or not. Our characters are an enigma in Tamerial which is why deities are always drawn to us offering various types of power.

Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Ugh. It's - abhorrent. Yes, it's always been in TES. No, I've never gone there. It's horrible. Seriously, people - the secondary villain in ESO MQ is Mannimarco - the necromancer.

Nope, don't EVEN tell me about using soul gems. I've never "harvested" souls in all the years I've played TES (since Arena released). Charge your weapons? Eh, who needs to - you can always find something else....

This is the one thing in TES games that I've always had a problem with. And it's the one major thing that will mean I spend no money on ESO for this chapter etc. I may have to blow the bandwidth budget to download the chapter content (yeah yeah I know how all that works), but I doubt I'll be playing it.

Sucks too - because I wanted Elseweyr; but combining it with something repugnant to me means I won't get to enjoy the Khajiit homeland.

I mainly played a necromancer on Diablo II, but never a minion master or summoner. I played him as a bone mage or artillerist.

No clue what to expect here.

Repugnant lol you have so much hate inside you it seems..you know it's a game and not real life right ? And people can just not play the class if they don't like it. Tolerance is a rare thing these days :D

    Emphasis mine.

The different being that now the necromancers will outnumber the normal residents of Tamriel.

That being said, western RPGs have a long storied tradition of having a necromancer class.

It's something many people have come to expect.

I'm actually thoroughly disgusted by necromancy, so I can't really say. I know it's been asked for on the forums for literally years though, so I'm not going to rain on anyone's parade about it. Besides, usually when they make a new class we get new characters slots, so there's something there even for people like me to enjoy! If we get three slots then I can finally realize my dream of having a Men'Do of every class.... except Necromancer, 'cause that's grody.

Because people feel sad when they see a dead bird on the ground. Except for the Khajit. They feel hungry.

I think it's because people are obsessed with the concept of death and life beyond that, and in different folklore around the world there are tales of the dead coming back to life, and that intrigues people. Also the fact that a Necromancer can bring the dead back and essentially control the undead. People have a thing for power and control.

I love playing all different types of char's with different moral compasses. I do find a Necromancer class in games wickedly delightful to play and let loose my evil side. I especially enjoy controlling an army of minions especially satisfying! Can't wait to add my necro to my ESO lineup!
