Since it's the only title I let my characters show.......I guess I don't mind fishing. ;)

And since I have a new Magplar dps and Templar tank now added to the WldKarde family...

I'll just hang out the "Gone Fishing" sign once again for numbers 8 and 9

I have EVERY Fishing achievement in the game.

I can do it with one hand. Basically I can fish and do some real life stuff at the same time. Take a phone call, answer the Wife and sometimes eat. My cat loves it.

Nope - it's just flat out boring.

I can see why people respect Master Angler as an achievement. The patience involved is epic.

I thought recently that if I got all the Cyro fish, I'd give the achieve a serious go - but the salt water fish holes are down by the AD gate and even with the Hissmir recipe, the rare one just don't drop after multiple attempts at both holes.

Conclusion - this is just a waste of time and I've better ways to spend my game time.

I like it for the same reasons many are criticizing it -- it's "boring." I used to fish with a friend, and it was a good opportunity to relax and chat about things.

Lately, though, haven't had the chance... life just pulling me in other directions, so I don't have the time or energy, or I need to do something more productive than working towards that achievement.

More than likely I'll have to stop once I hit the Cyrodiil fishing, since I hate PvP. Unless I can figure out a tank build that makes me unkillable but otherwise useless in combat.

Fished in FFxiv and BDO, both were fun and I could spend many hours of playtime preparing then fishing.

ESO fishing is so basic it just makes me question what I'm doing with my playtime/life. I have some nostalgic fishing screenshots of old ESO characters from 2014, but no fishing excursion memories like other games.

Edit:I like the fishing for its simplicity, I wouldn't want changes/improvements that removed its simplicity and ease of access.

I enjoy fishing, I find it totally relaxing. I wouldn't be averse to any improvements or additions being made to the system in order to make it more involved but not so as to dumb it down or make it more "exciting" for those who find it boring. It''s fine as it is.

If so what makes you like it? If not what disinterested you about it? How would improve it if you could?

    Hi,

In early days I loved fishing, it was fun.
I didnt sell any of my fishes until now, there are also 2 chars full of blue and green fishes.

But... one day ZOS killed my fun about fishing...
There was an awful Update and after that I couldnt put any of my fishes on those 2 chars anymore.

It was the day I stoped fishing! :heartbreak:

My main tow some fishes until now.
Do you want smell my fishes? No?
Then let me put my fishes on the bank.

And I am Master Angler too

    Thanks :)

fishing is pretty boring lol, long wait, you can get disappointingly nothing. not even fillet fish. mind numbing rinse repeat cycle with almost 0 required skill (hey exactly like eso combat) and rng rewards (hey exactly like every reward in eso)

option one, make it take more input and have rewards tied to it. Make it require something besides being on autopilot. like the quicker you real in the line the better reward you get. and occasionally throw in like a super big fish that is guaranteed a perfect row drop. like 1/10 spawn rate. And it requires a qte where you mash the line button.

option 2, make fishing require a lighting staff and zap the water and it triggers a mini game to race around picking up as many fish from the top of the water in a set time frame before they are unstunned (would at least give ppl a reason to use lightning staffs again, thanks off balance nerf)

Never for a second thought I’d like it but have been spending my last 10-15 minutes of game time fishing. For all the achievements I’ve collected in the game, the weirdest thing is that I get the most pleasure from catching the rare blue fishes. And I don’t even like fishing IRL.

It is just OK. Needs better rewards. Also slaughterfish should not be an ordinary fish found only in foul waters. They should be rares found in every water that actually attack the fisher requiring us to battle it. That alone would add spice to the activity.

Don’t enjoy it but the rewards for perfect roe is good and I wanted master angler so did it for that.

I did like what they did with summerset in locking recipes and motifs behind it as a way of rewarding you but haven’t done it since which is a shame.

Fishing in a game is boring as hell. I don't know how people get through all those achievements. I can barely make it through the main quests for each chapter without going insane from boredom.

I don't like it but the only thng that annoys me is that some summerset recipes and motifs ´require you to fish. Actually, it isn't even the fishing that bothers me - it's the drop rate of these rewards. A friend of mine likes the fishing though, she finds it relaxing.

Most people enjoy larger dopamine rushes. Fishing is low on rewards, so unless there is a specific goal attached, then there isnt much use for it. Some people find it relaxing which is understandable.

Well, I'll be the oddball here. I enjoy fishing. After a few hours or more of fighting monsters, running dungeons, and whatever else, I fish to relax. I put on some music, sit back and enjoy the environment, and watch whatever is going on around me.

Same here. I don't have a Master Angler yet, but I'm down to just one or two more fishes in most zones. That can be frustrating, but I still enjoy the general activity (or would that be passivity?)

I do with they would do something better with the wet gunny sacks. Two Ta, yay, just what I needed. At least throw a few more items in.

So maybe update gummy sacks on occasion or maybe per zone?

I have 28k of filleted fish so that's a yes. I'm sure that number is low reading some ppl have multiple anglers titles. I find it relaxing. I get a buzz out of looking around and finding something I may not have noticed otherwise. I like fishing out of tunnels...i like the echo sound. Also I can do it on my crappy laptop when away from home. The roe has bought many things.

Gunny sacks should give a map to a ultra rare fishing spot that allows you to fish up the equivalent of that “undaunted plunder” item that vendors for 1k that we were getting for the event.

So you fish; you get a gunny sack; you get a map; you go to the special fishing spot; and then when you fish there you can get: some beer, a blue fish for that region, 1k “chests”, furniture, etc.

Maybe have to unlock a map to a small special area?
