I like fishing in ESO.
I wouldn’t mind if they added a little bit to it like random “weights” to the normal fish and little “personal best!” notifications when you got like a really big salmon. Nothing that takes artwork resources, just some random number and text. Kind of like Animal Crossing.
Also, I wish it was easier to type and fish.
I’d like a vendor to sell mounted versions of the rare fish, I’ve never sold off my “Preposterous Mackerel” for just that reason.
Lastly I once posted an idea for a rusty dwemer sphere construct called “The Fish Wife”. you deposit fish into it and it spits out fillets and perfect roe with the same chance you’d get if you hand-filleted them. it’s just faster and makes for another cute assistant. How we earn it I leave up to the devs.

I have 7 Master Anglers and working on two more.

Bring it back imo - a lot of people were fishing then. Otherwise it's as boring AF in this game.
Would be nice if there was a mini game involved with fishing. You have to move your rod depending on what the fish does. If the fish runs to the right you move the rod to the left that sort of thing. Give fish different tiers so a harder to land fish has a slightly better chance at producing Perfect Roe. Would also be fun if from time to time you hook a monster that comes ashore and then you have to decide stay and fight or run. Monster should be somewhat close to overland boss in strength. Would make fishing in groups more desirable.
Our guild used to have fishing events and that really helped with the monotony of fishing. I have two characters with master fisherman achievements but doubt I will get another. I fish when waiting for more members in pug trials but that is about it now.
