We know there's Necromancy - How will it work?

SO Ladies and Gents, we know now that there IS a necromancer class which will be released.. but how will it work?
In PvP, will i be able to re-animate up to two foes? with them becoming simple NPC's with 20k health and acting as a pet? Or will I be able to summon skeletons from the ground?
Will it be viable for PvE?
Honestly, I'm loving what Im seeing and hearing, and this year looks like its gonna change ESO in a better way.
Let me hear what you think the abilities will be!

Maybe necro wont bring pets. They just have too much bugs wirh sorc pets so I cant imagine doing the same mistake.

Whatcha think then? Maybe a soul tree for single target damage?

There'll have to be some form of re-animation in some way - it wouldn't be necromancy otherwise.

I was honestly hoping for the Battlemage class to come back. (It existed in alpha apparently)

Not sure how Necro can work but it might be something similar to how they did the warden pets.

Being used as a thrall by an enemy player in pvp would be so frustrating... I love the idea!
It would be awesome if some new staff weapons were introduced.

My guess is it will be NB skills combined with Sorc skills... Eww... even thinking about it gives me a head ache of how OP & Broken that would be...

The ultimate badmouth in PvP will no longer be tbagging, but will be bringing someones corpse back to life and using it to wash the dishes.

If thats the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if they slip it into a lesser DLC somewhere down the line if the majority of the work was already done in Alpha

Tank (bone), healing (blood or spirit), dps (minions) lines.

Or something quite similar, given how the Warden and subsequent class restructuring has been done.

That does make sense. Do you think the Necromancer will be revolved a lot around summoned protection rather than on itself. Or to better rephrase, do you think the Necro will be squishy with no summoned entities?

I can't lie - either way, however this class turns out, I will sweat it to the ends of the earth to maximise its potential.

I think ZOS will use the same trick as with DK -> warden, so it will be basically sorc, except it will have skeleton instead of clannfear and zombie instead of that other thing sorcs have, and where it will differ substantially is colour tone of spell effects; they will be green-ish instead of violet-ish.

EDIT: almost forgot. Unlike sorc it will be paywalled, of course, to make up for the cost of Adobe Photoshop license for making skills green, and subtly OP to ensure commercial success.

CC, dd, heal, tank, any sort of support. Do not expect ton of pets (zombies, skelis). Maybe one pet. Two maximum with second as temporary pet.

I think a class can have summoned entities without them having to be pets (pets as we know them with the sorc scamp, matriarch, etc). I wouldn't be surprised if their are necromancer abilities like the warden bug swarm, cliffracer, etc where the necromancer summons skeletons instead to run at and attack an enemy if that makes sense.

I actually disagree, I liked the point about a paywall.. because its mildly true (i don't mind - i play this enough to fund their endeavours) BUT I think it'll be a drastically different class all together. I think it'll be inherently weak, with no source of protection, but it'll rely on what it can summon to be strong.
Im interested to see how it plays out though.

This would be a good idea - I think skeletons are a given, but id like to see how they utilise the idea!

The problem with the necromancer class isn't even how powerful it might or might not be its the fact that regardless of what they do it will never live up to other players dreams.

It's like meeting your celebrity idol in person, you'll get disappointed. It could be the most amazing balanced class ever to hit this game... doesn't matter... it'll be torn apart by those disappointed that the idea/dream they had of what the Necromancer class should be didn't come true.

    I agree 100%

IF I could have anything, it would be necromancers bringing a maximum of 5 enemy players back to life, with their outfits and all, but slightly tattered to do my bidding. Killing their friends with their own bodies, and having a mini army of undead to be around me at all time in any place..

The Likelihood of this happening is in the negatives, but its up to ZoS to bring us something where we know they did the best they could, and made it worth the wait (and the price tag o o f)

I think a number of the skills that could work here are already in game. The hands reaching from the ground could work as a root. Some sort of fear mechanic. A skeleton summon that is on a timer, similar to the shade. A large skeleton ultimate. Definitely a zombie summon of some kind.

But, considering this is being released alongside dragons, I wouldn't be surprised to see something like a dragon priest ultimate. You summon the priest and he performs a shout. Or at the very least, draugr summons.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, I could possibly see an ultimate that could resurrect 1 maybe 2 fallen allies with a temporary debuff on them and maybe a short buff to the necromancer like major berserk or something.

The dragon priests did practice necromancy a lot - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1plg9kxl1Og&t=1409s shows that dragon priests heavily used necromancy.
