I mean, what arguments are you looking for? The best argument would probably be, that playing an MMO is a hobby that provides quite a lot of entertainment for quite little money.
If hubby comes up with the waste of time argument - every hobby is a waste of time, unless it is a productive hobby, like woodworking or knitting.8 -

Maybe he is just a little confused. Not every problem can be solved with "get a new partner". Nothing here warrants a separation. I hate these kinds of answers. Sure if the partner is abused or something then that is the right call. But something as trivial as this? No! ✭✭One point may be that MMOs are about interaction with people. Not face2face, but still people.
I think many have a problem with understanding how MMOs work when not playing themselves. It's not like taking a Gameboy to absolute nerd level. If you jump up to do the dishes or the trash RIGHT NOW you may wreck a farm run and annoy 3 to 11 other people. There is no PAUSE button, since it works real time, because there are other people.
Finding an agreement about kinda sabbatical times for marital thingies and MMO thingies would be a good start. Don't annoy hubby, neither your online mateys.1 -

As long as gaming does not keep one out of the marriage it should not be an issue.
I have knowns some that were logged into the game player all evening every day and all day on weekends instead of spending time with their spouse. that becomes a different story.

✭If you just login for daily rewards thats a matter of a minute a day. There are many more daily things in ESO, you could do though - crafting ones for example, you could do with eight chars. Achievements that eat much of your time... so Hubby can be happy its just daily login with one char for that small click.^^
And: Hobby is hobby - you spend time doing things you like. You wouldn't ask of him to mow the lawn while there's a football game on tv (even if he could record it and watch it later), because you accept that that time span that day is blocked for his hobby, and that he wants to enjoy it right then. ✭✭✭Since logging in for the daily rewards only takes a couple of minutes, it’s hard to see why anyone would mind. If, on the other hand, you log in for hours every day and take time away from your joint activities with your husband, that could be an issue. Does he play any computer games? Do you share any other hobbies or leisure activities? How many hours a day does he spend on his football stuff? Can the two of you talk it out and come to a compromise?0 -

I had a gf who spend hours on Facebook bitching at me for gaming. Emphasis on had... You don't need a partner that can't respect your hobbies and interests. This is a failing of respect and is manipulative and controlling.
Bullying, be it physical or psychological, should not be accepted and further more should not be dismissed as petty or trivial.
