Sorry, but wow...
ZOS give out free stuff, people complain.
People want events, ZOS put on events, people complain of 'burn out' as they decided to max out on free stuff / grind it all.
What can ZOS do?
I do not get the concept of 'burning out' in a video game, that we play to enjoy.
I think the responsibility of that is on the players not the developers....

Totally agree with Beardimus.
Sorry to see, but most of the time the problems in the players's heads, not in the developers/publishers.
If you say "its not true,, just click on RECENT, an read the first page titles...

Dont get it on you, what i wrote. Some shame on the players, others are on the devs. That the way of mmorpg-s.
But... and is always a but, lot of people said, mmorpg-s not sprints... they are marathons.
I dont know which indrik will i choose, but i'll be patient. My time will come ! So as yours
No worries, at end of Q1 you can buy tickets from crown store. And for each upgrade you need 4 berries. Most likely same price as feathers. So much for 'free' xD
I don't disagree with the dislike of having too many events, one straight after another. One can have too much of anything - including similar looking Indriks, I can't begin to imagine the appeal.
However, as to whether you have to wait for your favorite Indrik to appear, that only has two alternative solutions. Either you get yours now and everyone else has to wait for their different favorite, or everyone gets everything now. I suspect the latter is where far too many players are at these days, the whole concept of a MMORPG being for years, not weeks or even months, seems to have totally been dropped by a lot of players. Free stuff has become not only an entitlement, but an immediate entitlement.
Of course, the moment ZOS changed things so it all became available immediately the forum would be packed with "Cash grab before the game shuts!" claims!
Developers can never win!

Respectfully disagree.
Everyone doesn't need to get everything now. If all 4 types of berries are available, but tickets are still limited by event, you could still only earn enough to evolve one Indrik a quarter. Same as now in that it would still take time to get everything, but the order is in the hands of each individual player.
I love how every time something happens that someone doesn't agree with RANDOM CAPS HAPPENS and they instantly represent all players and know WHAT ALIENATES PLAYERS because they're MMO marketing experts! Get over yourself...

Your brother gets a present for Christmas. You have to wait another nine months for no apparent reason. They are both 'free'. But are you going to be happy with that?I do not get the concept of 'burning out' in a video game, that we play to enjoy.
If you had 'fun' grinding for RNG ice skin in the last event, you are probably the only one.
Burnout can come from many / any source. If you don't think you can get it from a video game, you probably don't understand the concept of burnout, and you probably don't understand why people stop playing video games.I think the responsibility of that is on the players not the developers....
This is irresponsible. Companies which design mechanics that encourage grinding are responsible for designing those mechanics. Same as tobacco companies are responsible for selling tobacco. The 'personal responsibility' argument is a fallacy perpetuated by predatory companies. Yes, as individuals and players we have responsibility. But that does not absolve companies of their responsibilities. It is not an 'either/or' world, and thinking in those terms is, as I said, irresponsible. [/rant]

Sorry @mjharper but I completely & fundamentally disagree with all your points here.
In short my view is : Free stuff is cool and I'm grateful for it, grinding something to death is the players choice to want it 'all' / max out. I don't grind, I don't have the stuff. Player choice. And players choosing to burn out rather than just enjoy a video game is again, on them. All the counter arguements just feel like entitlement to me. Personal view.
Given my time spent on this and other forums I can see we are of a different opinion / outlook fundamentally on this point. So ill go no further on this than to say we can agree to disagree, as Its prob the healthiest thing to do. All the best & hope you get your mount sorted.

Fair enough. Curious about 'and other forums', since this is the first time I've made anything resembling an angry thread. Oh well, all the best.

Yes, you totally convinced me I'm wrong. Did you even read what I wrote, or just look for CAPITALS to be dismissive?
I did not speak for ALL players (MORE CAPS). I spoke for those of us, like myself, who may be alienated by having to wait up to a year to get the Indrik evolution they wanted.

It's not about right or wrong. You don't get what YOU WANT immediately and now requires patience, but since you clearly are lacking in that department, and you disagree with how they've planned this evolution process you jump to the conclusion that you know what all players want which is evidenced by saying "This is the way to utterly alienate your players." This is language speaking for all players.
A less selfish whiny version could be: Well, it's going to take a while to get the evolution I want. At least I'll be ready when it's time, and as a bonus since not everyone will have the patience maybe I'll have something a little bit more rare.
This is an MMO. They're meant to take time. I think this is a great way for you to learn if something doesn't agree with you, then that doesn't make it wrong or "nonsense." Try to look at things from other perspectives. It'll help you later in life. If you're already old... maybe it'll help you before you die.
