The first event with the feathers felt fresh, by now it feels like a hamster wheel

So what it comes down to is this:
  • 4 events in January alone
  • Event tickets added to the crown store, while preventing us from saving them by capping the number the inventory can hold
  • A ridiculously complex and grindy mechanic to acquire all 4 Indriks, including the need to farm the base Indrik multiple times

ZOS, when the event was first announced, I thought it was a good idea. I did not realize that we have to farm the Indrik multiple times, so I assumed that we could earn more event tickets than we needed. I interpreted this as a clever design decision that is fair to casual players and protects the intense players from OCDing over maximizing their Indrik rewards. But a few weeks later the whole situation looks much worse and much bleaker.

You've essentially created a hamster wheel that is bound to burn players out, and created multiple opportunities for players to develop negative emotions along the way (tickets in the crown store, wasted tickets of those that didn't buy extra feathers in 2018). These kind of systems are what drive players away from the game. Yes you need to give players something to do. But don't burn them out. Not all ESO players are unemployed. Most of us have jobs and families and we play the game to relax. We want to come home from work and play the game to relax a bit, not to obsess about getting all these time-limited items in time.

With more than 5 characters alone it's already impossible to do all pledges, get the random dungeon and battlegrounds bonus xp as well as doing some of the dailies on all characters on any given day as it is. There are so many dailies in the game already, this avalanche of events is just blowing the burn-out potential out of proportion.

My solution is to treat all the daily repeatables like a banquet and only pick and choose carefully just the right amount from only things I enjoy. I don't care about loot or achievements so actually kind of enjoy the wide assortment of choices among the available activities.

My selections during the New Life Fest were simply to do one Breda quest per day on one character. Normally I do a pledge or two - only if they are dungeons I enjoy. I quite like daily undaunted delves and often do one a day of those. I only do one writ on one character on most days.

So no burn out here. :)

Can't wait for there to be a hamster wheel mount.

They've already given us a pokemon deer that honks like a clown horn when you ride it, so anything is possible.

Zos provided a solution. They are going to sell tickets in the Crown store.

Perhaps pull back and relax a little, give up this feeling that you "have" to do all these things?

Just because they fill the game with activities and tasks for you to pick and choose among, doesn't mean you're compelled to do them all.

    Good Lord,

People complained that they couldnt get cool mounts in game
Wanted a way to get them that you had to work for it and not be a 1 and done gimme, or crown store purchase

ZOS comes up with a way for us to work toward a really cool new mount and be able to evolve it into a chosen color
And you can get all of them if you really really want to work for it.
It requires participation in periodic events where you earn things to go toward getting your mount born then evolved.

People complain it takes too long and is too grindy

I swear there is no making people happy no matter what they do

The thing to remember is you don't *have* to have multiple mounts. It's just a virtual mount with a virtual skin created by virtual berries in a game. If you choose to make it your mission to get all possible permutations of said fake mount as rapidly as possible, I'd suggest you should be asking questions of yourself re. life priorities, not ZOS.

The way I look at this, ZOS are just providing many opportunities for players to obtain the mount they desire, whilst also trying to keep players in game via some *optional* events. if a small number of players choose to make it a mandatory and obsessive grind, that's not really something ZOS can control and I don't see that as their objective.

That's the reason i only have one character i do dailies with. And he doesn't even do all pledges or dailies and certainly not daily.

I agree on some points. But the hamster wheel only runs when a hamster goes in it.

Are you a hamster? Do you really need to do all dailies every day on every character?

I also come home and want to relax. As soon as something in the game feels like work... i just skip it and do something i actually have fun with. Don't burn out yourself.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

You don't really need that mount, the indrik. It is nice, but there will always be new mounts, and the new fashionable indriks will get old, as new content will arrive. I plan to upgrade maybe one or two indriks, but it is already to much hassle for a Summerset themed mount.

I remember how happy I was for the free Psijic mount that we unlocked. Now I use the indrik. A few months from now there will be a new one.

The good thing about the indrik is that we have more events which give extra xp, goodie boxes with free motifs, furniture and stuff. I also like if we can get 2x AP events

The event tickets would be better as a concept if we could buy more stuff with them

This is where you went wrong in your assumptions. It is not their job to "protect" us from OCDing. That is something you should consider reflecting on if it is something that you don't want to do.

The answer lies within your own statement.

I handle it the same way, especially when it comes to the zone dailies and pledges. And I generally like this buffet style of things to do. I think that part is really well designed. It works well for one-character as well as multi-character scenarios. You can either do many different dailies on a single character or do the same dailies on multiple characters - whatever you feel like.

It's more that I feel like it's an issue when you add all these events on top of it at such a high frequency.

Just one mount will suffice. I’m not farming for 4 mounts then 4 evolutions lmfao all mounts have the same purpose.

You don't have to join in on the events- nothing forces you to.

Just play the bits you like, how you like, and ignore everything else. Or help out people in other areas of the game.

I might do some of the events, others I might not- but whether others do or whether there are 'too many' events doesn't even factor for me.

There could be an 'event' on all the time, makes no difference. Just because you feel that it's an issue doesn't mean it is- some people like lots of events and some very few.

Yeah this is my solution as well. Got back after a break with the undaunted event. After NLF I already had my share of grinding. One more ticket and I have a mount I'll probably never use ;)

I must say it did get very repetitive and boring, so as soon as I got my quota of tickets I only did the one quest each day to obtain the mysterious box.

I also confined the event to just one character - it was nice to get the Indrik but I don't want more than one
because I am not sure if I will use it very often !

The New Life boxes did not contain enough worthwhile goodies (in my opinion) to inspire me to use all my characters to do the event each day
