Off meta tank builds

Does anyone have any off meta tank builds thats viable in vet trials/dungeons i wanna try something different than the same old ebon and alkosh or battalion basically something unique but still works.

✭✭Almost anything works in dungeons if the goal is not to maximize group DPS. What do you want to do? Deal damage? Survive completely on your own? CC everything with cool lightning effects? Lot of alternatives here
Something I personally run when I'm the selfish tank god is Leeching Plate + Bahraha's Curse, with Bogdan, Malubeth or Earthgore depending on what I'm facing. Good luck killing that.EU PC0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Pretty much anything is off meta for tank build. Many players wear what they want for tanking dungeons and such.
Only the ones pushing the more challenging content really need to be concerned about what those raid leaders want them to wear. That and tanks pushing for scores in the arenas.
So wear what you want. What you think is cool. I just suggest nothing that procs a shield on your since the cooldowns are to long for them to be worthwhile.1 -

✭tried all that "healing you for 100% of damage" (there are 3 sets). Did't like it, especially when you can heal yourself for like 35k in one Green Dragon Blood cast, all that small heals become so weak.
My current setup is Ebon+Plag + 2 separate mag regen monsters. 2 jewerly mag regen, 1 for shield. Atro mundus.
43k hp
31k resist
9k shields
Minor protection front bar (Guard)
still can't block that stupid khajiit Vykosa rage jumping attack, only dodge or kite

hehehehe 80% mitigation is incredibly easy to accomplish and most tanks do it without even really trying. I made one build that can even do that without blocking. But yes you should read my thread if you want to know more.0 -

MerlinPendragon✭✭✭✭I had the itch to make a non-DK tank during the recent XP event and been enjoying my Templar Tank/Paladin.
I am not sure what constitutes "meta" for tank sets at the moment outside the Ebon/Alkosh you mentioned, but theres lots you can do. If you want higher resists and health, could look at sets like Warrior Poet, Green Pact. Could also run infused/infused weps with Torugs Pact and Akiviri Dragon for fast ultimate regen and increased weapon glyph effectiveness. If you want to go for stats, combine Plague Doc and Shacklebreaker, hit em with prismatic glyphs and add two monster sets for regen. Could go the medium armor route if you were looking for something more capable of contributing to DPS.

Konstant_Tel_Necris✭✭✭✭✭I currently use on argonian DK "shield tank" with Atronach stone, all points in stamina, tri stat food usualy.
Jorvuld’s Guidance infused S&B + jewelry transmuted to healthy with shield play and potion speed enchants
I use prismatic chants on infused big parts and stamina on sturdy small parts, weapons with crusher chants

Before I used Lunar Bastion on DK tank with Brands Imperium and Lord Warden, its good that's Lord Warden shows blue circle where is party will get shields from both sets and from my Fragmented Shield and Bone Shield, in Oh *** situations I can drop Replenishing Barrier.
Its good combinations in tight rooms and narrow ways and when there is synergy providing team.
I use Cinder Storm and Resolving Vigor on top so, if all goes good I get comfy house for melee DD where they are protected by 20K+ stack of Lord Warden hardened shields, and good healing from Vigor and Cinder Storm improved by Bone Surge Major Vitality and Fragmented Shield Major Mending, if Ring of Preservation wasn't so costly I would drop it on top as well as it will make my comfy house into little fortress.
But if there is a lot of more synergy I better use Alkosh, if there is newcomer players who rarely activate synergy Bone Surge lose effectiveness, and in large open areas teammates tend to spread out, running out of my little home, that's make sad panda argonian, in such cases I switch to Bahraha's Curse from Jorvuld’s Guidance.

Not a bad set up a long time ago i consulted a guild i was in because i got lunar bastion and was thinking about running a shield tank but they told me it wasn't worth it so this gives me some insight.0 -

5 Leeching Plate
When using dungeon finder it's easy to come across people who aren't tanks nor healers, but queued as such to avoid the long wait (it's frustrating). With this build I can alleviate both of those problems because I can queue as a tank and don't need a healer.1 -

Akaviri dragonguard does not make the ulti faster, just reduce it's cost, same as alteration master and the new stam alteration masterSarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly
