What if titles had effects when equipped or worn?
So you know the deal. You complete a task some harder than others and you get rewarded with a title to show everyone where your skills or passions lie. But right now they're purely cosmetic. I'd like to see that change.
So I propose that every title grant the holder a unique passive while actively displayed. The effect would correspond to the difficulty of getting the title and should generally be related to it. For example "Master Anglers" should have an increased chance to get Perfect Roe when filleting fish. Or someone with "Tick Tock Tormentor" should deal increased damage for the first ten minutes after engaging enemies in a trial or dungeon. When you have "Recruit" the price of trash pots and weapons purchased from NPC vendors could be discounted. Something like "Alpha Predator" would make animals in the wild not attack you unless you strike first. "Covenant Hero" could perhaps increase your HP while in Covenant lands.
I think this would make titles more than an empty flex and can could potentially add another layer of customisation to combat and world interaction. To balance this title swapping would have a cooldown and would be unable to be swapped while in combat like current skills or gear.
What are your thoughts?
