I was in a vet dungeon once and needed to repair gear...

...and accidentally deleted my gold pants!

At that time the "Repair" option was right next to "Destroy."

ZOS has since reordered the list, but I had to wear white pants donated by another group member the rest of the dungeon.

I once created a female character, ran around nude and asked people if they could give me 10k to buy my first horse. I made 50k, which is great, but I never felt so cheap... ^^'

Manages to show up in an dungeon without gear I could use or any weapons. Was leveling two alts who shared gear and had an costume on, no idea how I managed to see that she did not have an staff.
Anyway alts without gear uses looted clothing from now even if gear is just deposited for crafter to upgrade.

Managed to heal half of vWGT using the night mother gaze medium armor as healer was doing the TG quest line.
found that my sustain was horrible so corrected it.

My first templar kept dying despite trying to use the heal spell. Never seemed to work.

Then it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to actually have some magicka available if I wanted to use it.

I need a somewhat linear story-line, but the game gives you an overwhelming amount of quests in certain areas. When I started Auridon I picked up every quest I could, but went through the map from the bottom up, finishing quests and picking up new ones as I made my way up to the top.
That meant that I picked up the Undaunted quest line right after I stepped out the boat (the one where you have to go to the Banished Cells).

I eventually reached the location where the Banished Cells are when I was about level 20. Up until then, every time I was told to go to a certain place, it involved going in, killing everything and coming out. And that was exactly what I tried to do there - with a level 20 petsorc bosmer wearing whatever gear and weapons I'd found along the way.

(First character, no previous knowledge of the game, playing it solo and not in any guilds. The last game I played before that was A Link to the Past)

I died before I could set foot in the first room. After 4 or so rezzes, I quit and decided to take the suggestion of one of the loading screens (paraphrasing it's "live to die another day").

Around level 40 or so I went back there - still alone and with found gear/weapons. I died again, but at least I died INSIDE the first room. Progress!

It wasn't until I got over level 50 that I realized the quest was to enter the Banished Cells. I only figured it out because I asked people in one of my guilds to go back there and couldn't find the quest for it anymore.
