Um. One for each "faction"?

You might enjoy it if you tried it, even a little bit.

No. I did pvp in WoW, on a pvp server, in a friend's guild. I hated it. I was there because the friend wanted me to try it. I did - I stuck it out for 9 months.
I HATE PVP. I'm not doing it ever again.
I never get this nor the salt of people fighting each other. All those years playing things like Mario Cart and Madden; all were PVP technically. And all were done against friends sitting right next to you as you had to use a split screen. I guess I just lived with it so dont know any better.

Sure I get my *ss kicked sometimes as I mostly have PvE gear, but with a group is doable.
Is it unplayable, I would say no not for me, but is there lag? Absolutely, sometimes during a heavy fight it's stuck one or two seconds or if you shoot with your bow you're wondering when the arrow is going to take off.
You don't need to be a scientist what will happen if a big event is planned for it.
Let's hope they also use it to troubleshoot the performance.

Can we hope for new PVP sets to be available at the Golden? For once an opportunity to actually do the old "buy/sell" from the Golden. It's been pretty rare recently, and people lowering the prices all the time at that.

FWIW, people do know what they enjoy in games. There might be people new to the MMO genre who have no clue, but multi-game vets usually have a pretty good idea of what they like and what they don't. Those tend to be the majority of the aging MMORPG gaming population. <--sorry, jaded middle-aged me has heard the "Try it you'll love it" thing in at least three MMOs myself. I've tried it (aside from raiding), and I usually don't love it
I'm not a fan of PvP in this game, though I have enjoyed it in very small doses elsewhere (lowbie SWTOR, Shambala in SWL, WvW in GW2). So I'll be sitting this one out too and enjoying the emptier PvE maps (woo hoo!).
Just want to say also that someone who dislikes PvP isn't necessarily bitter or full of salt about the standard stuff you see complained about on these forums. They just don't like PvP. That's not salt-- it's a preference.

Sotha and Shor are relatively playable. Just sayin.

If not. Well thats too bad.
Not gonna enter zerodull unless if there is something I want at the golden vendor.
So many whining, snivelling plums in this thread. COMPLAINING about a FREE event with rewards etc. Bloody Nora...
Server performance is fine at the moment - certainly, the best its been in a long, long time. If you're having performance problems, instead of blaming lag etc, upgrade your rubbish ghetto connection, or your gear, or bin the console and buy a PC.

Well, you get double AP from BGs during Midyear Mayhem. I don't recall from the PTS if there was a way to earn event tickets from BGs or not.

On the one hand I'm glad for PvP'ers (especially those who don't like PvE at all), because they can get tickets just by doing their thing, on the other hand, the events are happening so close to each other that it's getting a bit tiring, and distracts from regular game activities. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how it will be set-up, and also getting some AP saved for the Golden vendor
