If Meridia isn't the antagonist of the next major storyline, I'll be sorely disappointed

She's been an ally / sort-of-ally throughout both of the previous major storylines, and it would make complete narrative sense for her role to shift in a third act. And there have been so many little hints about not trusting her (never trust a daedra!) that it will be really disappointing if they don't lead somewhere.

well........ maybe? using the fighters guild ultimate against her would break the *** out of the lore.

Do not hold your breath. Not just because she seems to be on the right side of things but I do not think she will be directly in any story line. Remember that she was not in Summerset's storyline. She sent a hero.

Zos did some very serious voice acting with the original part of the game and have kept up the voice acting with each new zone (remember most MMORPGs make you read most of the quests). However, it does seem they are cutting corners and I think that is why we did not hear from Meridia at all.

? daedric artifacts have sometimes shown to have a will of their own, such as umbra.

It would be in the best interest for nocturnal to not consume everything

I do not want to see the cheap cosplay outfit they would put on Meridia. LOL. You know what I am saying.

The most obvious example is the "Proxy Queen".

Previously the most obvious example was that there's an achievement to mudball the monarchs, but they don't say anything when you do so.

Indeed. But take example with Sotha Sil. Still better than any famous voice acting (except Prophet).

What I meant was, with Meridia being a 'good' daedra, it makes complete sense that she would be 'allied' with the people of Tamriel as long as her interests and their align. Helping us to withstand her enemies is fine -
we even saw that with Mephala and Clavicus Vile joining us against Nocturnal at the end of the Summerset storyline
    - and 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' is very much a daedric motto. So it seems perfectly logical for her to help us in combatting the machinations of other daedric princes - precisely so that she can enact her own scheme while said princes are weakened.

The point about the Fighter's guild could actually work towards this: she's already infiltrated one of the organisations which might stand against her.

I wasn't interested in the slightest with the price of voice actors, but with the narrative device of building up a relationship with a 'good' daedra (or her representatives) over the course of two major story lines, only to be reminded forcefully that she is nonetheless a daedra, and not to be trusted. And certain clues late in Summerset hinted as much.

    How many of us
left Sees-All-Colors alive at the end of the Fighter's Guild questline?
And how awesome would it be to see that decision to come back and bite us? That's just an example. For five years of ESO content, we've become comfortable with trusting Merida. We've trusted her too much. And that's a compelling third act narrative, in my view.

nah i like meridia, i really would rather not fight her, sheo, azura, vermina or sanguine

hircine, malacath, dagon, nimira, pyrite, mora, boethia.... all on the table tho

or heaven forbid they get creative and we dont fight a daedric prince. Just some crazy mortal nutcase bent on world domination would be a nice change.

If she is, I'll be disappointed. The betrayal thing has be done to death in this game, and it's nice that not every Daedra is mindlessly awful to people because it makes you understand why anyone bothers to worship them. It brings nuance to the Daedra if not all of them are that malevolent.

I actually would love to see more of Hircine. He just stood in the sky in March or Sacrifices and was completely absent from Moon Hunter Keep. A lost opportunity if you ask me.

Doesn't seem her style, besides she is one of the good ones and think about the only thing she may want to wipe out or cease to exist in the mortal orld would be vampires and the like she is not fond of such creatures but then again she also about mortals having choice and such,.

A conflict involving the Fighter's guild and vampires could be interesting for players, I would have thought, especially in a new PVP mode...

Also, re her style. Why not? Meridia hates the undead. Why not have a plot involving her trying to end death? If no-one dies, there can be no undead. Let her 'preserve' life, no matter the cost. Seems like a daedric plot to me :)

All daedra are evil. Even if they seem to help at some point, they just use mortals for their own purpose. Meridia must be an antagonist in some chapter - she also has her goal and schemes, just like all other daedra.

She shouldn’t really be an antagonist. She’s a Daedra, but not a total d-bag or anything although she obviously has her own agenda. She is a daedra, yes, but not for the same reason as the rest of them.

    ESO writers are awesome.

Say what you want about the rest of the game, but the writers are awesome. Let them do their thing.
