I PLAYED A DIFFERENT CAMPAIGN. I don’t mind playing a different campaign ONCE A YEAR! If I HAVE to.
Now I have to suffer even MORE lag and play a different campaign because SOMEONE at ZOS thought having an extended PvP event would be fun for ANYBODY when performance in Cyrodill is crap. I’m stuck in a loading screen RIGHT NOW lol.

I can’t. The reasons people are giving for wanting an extended PvP event aren’t “I want an extended event because I like PvP.”
In that, I will admit that people might just n fact want an extended PvP event. Maybe they play for rewards. Maybe they want to evolve that mount. Maybe they Zerg and pvdoor and won’t notice the difference pvping on a dead campaign.
However, the only reason I still login to this game is because I LIKE the PvP. I WILL notice the difference. I DID NOT enjoy The Mid-Year Event because it made the only thing good (to me) even crappier than it is NORMALLY.
I didn’t do New Life and I don’t intend to do another event ever again. I just want to PvP in peace. Fix the servers. Geeze.2 -

You can never have event the whole year,
Cyrodiil may have issues but not compaigns with lower population, this event will bring new campaigns and you can join those.
Most of players having connections issues but none related to Cyrodiil performance.
Did you try any other MMORPG and checked if you are facing similar lags?0 -

The best players in PvP I know in this GAME, HATE mid-year mayhem. They all told me when I was all excited about it that I’d be disappointed and I was.

You should take break, event is for all players not just best PVP players and many would disagree with you.

Switch your PvP campaign to avoid the Vivec lag.

Interesting, since ZOS tried to slow players down to reduce lag with Nerfmire by killing Swift, speed pots, and Major Expedition sets. If the lag is actually worse, maybe those changes had no effect, and should be reversed?1 -

Monsieur✭✭✭Vivec is unplayable on PS4 EU prime time. I assume it's the same NA prime time.
Here's what I mean by unplayable.
Our full group ported into Nikel Outpost as it started to go under seige. Not one of our group loaded into Nikel, we all experienced infinite loading screens which after 5 minutes went into a blue screen crash.
This was with 3 bars AD, 2 bars DC, 2 bars EP.
Near infinite load screens are extremely common. It's very common to experience 2-3 load screens when riding from one keep to an outpost or another keep, plus another load screen when you arrive at the keep.
When there's more than approximately 2 full groups at a keep the FPS drops to a point where it'll either crash to the dashboard or average what looks like 0.5 FPS.
I've tried every PS4 diagnostic, (playing on HDD only, playing on external SSD, playing from disk). Rebuilding database. Absolutely nothing helps and performance has got worse with each patch.
Midyear Mayhem last year was horrific, you'd crash when you arrived at a keep and crash when you captured a keep. It was pot luck as to whether you'd get back into the server as obviously Vivec and Shor were pop-locked.2 -

Speak for yourself, I personally love the midyear mayham event. I enjoy both PVE and PVP and love this event. And personally I have little issues regarding performance, bar maybe when my own connection acts up.
Furthermore to hold up on new content is a little bit silly, some of us love the new lore and new stories and enhancements being added to the game during each update.
I feel like it's far more beneficial for them to push performance related fixes between major updates, but that is just two cents on the matter.Roleplay Character - Selene Vaelora

In RL pagan calendar that is June 21st, Summer Solstice... Remember Shakespeare Mid-Summer Nights Dream? It wasn't in January!
In Tamriel it is 16th Mid Year, ( 16th June).Mid Year Celebration - 16th Mid Year (16th June)
Today is the 16th of Mid Year, the traditional day for the Mid Year Celebration. Perhaps to alleviate the annual news of the Emperor's latest tax increase, the temples offer blessings for only half the donation they usually suggest. Many so blessed feel confident enough to enter the dungeons when they are not fully prepared, so this joyous festival has often been known to turn suddenly into a day of defeat and tragedy.
By the end of the New Life, I was SOOOOO tired of events, I have gone from 2, 3, to 6-7 hrs a day playing to 30 minutes if I even log on.
Attention Zo$!!... Events like this weeks apart, and in some cases as the last 4 we had, a few days between events, are just a burn out.
Please turn control of the game back to the Devs that create the game and stop with the marketing grind of "Special Event! Log in EVERY day for 5 year old prizes and a new MOUNT that will take 2 years to evolve!!

No, but when you can do them with your eyes closed and have done the same ones for 3, 4 years, yea thats one thing. And then do the same ones over and over again on 4, 5, 6, toons??? Ok, thats on me.....
But ZoS has NEVER ran them back to back to back the way they have this year.
I have supported this game and even "white knighted" it since 2013. I LOVE this game, but it doesn't take much to see the direction they are taking. Focus on a evolving mount. Daily Log in rewards that are 70% worthless. ESO+ rewards, Crown Store Exclusives, etc...
We are becoming more of a Poke'man/ Simms style game than a Elder Scrolls game, imo....

✭✭The point myself, the OP, and others are trying to make is, Zenimax knows the servers cannot handle high pop fights, and yet they push ahead with another Midyear Mayhem event? The hilarious thing is, Zenimax just got chewed out for doing the same with the Undaunted event. The Undaunted event put so much stress on the group finder, that even the battlegrounds queue had issues.
Zenimax knows the servers have massive performance problems in PVP, they just got yelled at by the community with the Undaunted event, and yet they go ahead with another event? When the servers are barely held together with duct tape and chewing gum as it stands right now? Unbelievable.
This is coming from somebody who enjoys the hell out of ESO's PVP, too. For the last 6 or so months, PVP was all I'd do. So this isn't me being against PVP. It astounds me that the servers are in such a depressingly bad state at the moment, yet Zenimax's focus is on getting players to sink time into some stupid mount. fastolfv_ESO✭✭✭✭✭pvp events are horrible, cyro was so bad during this last crappy pve event that entire raids crashing approaching keep fights was common place. Add a 200 man que to vivec and a full server at all times with a thousand pvers who all think they can only get the berry on vivec and guess whats going to happen? you will still get all the pvp players to sit one out and actively avoid cyro so this event is no way shape or form for pvp players2 -

I PvP only and imo the event is great since it brings new campaigns which most of them get pretty populated, so instead of having only Vivec which is unplayable because of lag and Shor that is dead, you got vivec that is unplayable and 3 other campaigns that are populated and fun to play. Also surprisingly performance is better during midyear mayhem.2
