I honestly hate the login rewards. I was perfectly happy being able to go days without giving ESO a thought.

Well, now you can still go for days without giving ESO a thought, and anything you get at all is still a step up from the nothing we had before...

How do they manage to survive outside?

They dont. My step daughter and her friends wanted to go on a road trip but decided against it because friend's car did not have a good air-conditioner and I would not give them my car. Air-conditioning has made the world go soft.

I understand you perfectly, I have a nephew like that.

in Spanish we have a name for them

I like it. 100k gold, a pet, six 50% xp scrolls, two 150% xp scrolls. It's nice to get extra stuff just for logging in daily, something i'm going to do regardless of the daily rewards.

Hmmm.....instead of giving us gold maybe if they gave us 100k telvar. That would probably be more desired.

    or 500 atoms

To be honest gems would be nice. Even 10 per month.

Not the best but that 100K is very welcome. More gold to purchase more housing furniture.

If log in rewards ruin your new year I think you have more pressing problems than the content of daily log in rewards :p

Free sure seems to have a different meaning to some people than from the definition I learned back in grade school. If we buy the game, pay for dlcs and subscriptions, then how is some glitter free? I care not for the glitter they are throwing. The added stinginess of taking away crates only reinforces the company's negative reputation.

You get it whether you pay or not, therefore, FREE.

Honestly, if the only reason you're logging in is for some flashy bits, you need a new hobby, since you're apparently not enjoying yourself. It's free, I'm going to log in whether or not I get some free reward, just like I logged in before they offered free rewards. Free stuff is always nice, regardless of what it is. If I don't like the game, I'm going to stop playing, some imaginary mount or imaginary house isn't going to coax me.

I'm so over with people saying it's free blah blah so I'll just requote this from similar discussion. Bolded text to be frank.

It is a nice gesture but it is necessary in a marketing perspective so as an MMO dev, you'd have to improve the old system more so the paid ones if you want to keep your loyal customers on a tight leash, this is how the MMO business works.
This is how every business works.

Entitled. It IS free, if you want more cosmetic garbage, you are free to buy it. Daily login rewards are never very good, if you expect them to be, you are just being... ENTITLED.

I don't have much use for any of the daily rewards but some people like them - each to their own. A lot of the stuff I get is simply destroyed - foods, potions, horse training, XP scrolls, etc., because I don't need them and they simply take up inventory space.

As for being happy just because it's free - if you live in a 5th floor apartment and someone gave you a truck load of manure instead of a nice painting, would you still be happy to accept it just because it's free?

If I could sell the manure to a local farm, then it is still free money. I could then buy the painting I wanted... In ESO terms 100k gold buys a lot of in game paintings.

My preference would be to get things like achemey flowers and funiture ingredients, etc that I actually need and can't get from hirelings, but I guess I can just buy those with the 100k gold I get, so its not a big deal.

Haters gonna hate...and apparently make forum posts.

I think ZOS set the bar rather too high right at the start, most likely testing the water as this is a new feature of the game. Perhaps the free crates didn't encourage the sales they were hoping for, and instead was making for fewer sales of them. Certainly, as an example - I don't buy gamble crates and never will, but that didn't stop me making a nice pile of gems from the free ones. No more free ones still won't make me buy them, and I've seen little that I want to blow my gem stash on.

All the in-game currencies we are getting instead is fine with me. As someone pointed out, all the tel vars are a free Hakeijo rune and I use those from time to time. Free money is free money and thank you very much!

The only things I really have no use for at all are the soul gems.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I've often wondered how miserable life would be if I was always dissatisfied with things that I obtained with absolute minimal effort.

I'm glad I don't live in that reality. The reality that I'm in is one that I'm having fun and content with things freely given to me - even if I don't really need (or want)

Just wait until the real world gets hold of you and you have to actually WORK for what you get.

I think it is a great incentive to {trick} new players into staying for a bit^^ jk

I miss the crates but this is one thing that is good for eso. :)

It would be great if the dailies weren't bound so I could share then with new guild members and such.

Though we already decided as guild for everyone to use their 100k for our trader bid!!~

These types of complaint threads are super trashy. Fools are straight up asking for gems now! lol

I hope they decide to never give you ungrateful turds another free crate again. If that's honestly what's been keeping you around, just leave already.

As someone else said-- it's something you're getting for the most minimal amount of effort possible. Daily Rewards aren't supposed to be constant blessings to you, they're usually small crappy things with a few metaphorical-gems thrown in. Besides, you can use the potions and items you get from Daily Log-In to get what you really want in game.

I'm probably the only one who's glad to see all tbose beautiful XP scrolls :D Plus 100k gold is nothing to sneeze at-- and a new kitty <3 This might actually motivate me to build the kitty playground I"ve been mentally toying with in the villa. The rest of the rewards look pretty meh, TBH.

You know..... there are many ways to spin that. A local community garden would LOVE to have it - and if it were me, I'd donate it because community gardens are a GOOD thing.

Also, there might be a local composting service - so that truck load of manure could benefit many donated to that service.

Nope, I don't get a tax benefit, because we never itemize. So the good I do through donations every year - is just good. I get no benefit outside of knowing I've done something to give back.

And if you're just a money sucker - well, you can sell it on "whatever-List" for money you can use on something.... useless.

I love the scrolls, as I always have babies. So yeah, I get you! And while my main account is flush in gold, and sent a half mil to the second account, I will NEVER turn up my nose at free gold no matter the amount.

The rewards do not entice me to log in a single day more then I would had they not existed. Which means only a couple times a month. Which means the daily rewards these days are rather meh to me. But I am fine with that. Daily rewards are a non issue to me like this and not feeling pressure "having to" log in not to miss anything good is nice too.

I use mine for my CP-level toons. It helps the non-moving bar seem to move a little faster. I love the reward ones because they last two hours, so I feel a little less guilty roaming around gathering or checking out the scenery when I'm using one. The one hour ones you get from the gem exchange make me feel like I have to cram in maximum killing and quest turn-in so I'm not wasting them.

Can't wait to hit the cap-- if I ever manage-- and finally chill out. I've tried to reframe my thought process to accept perpetual grind without getting the final shiny, but it doesn't work :D I need more meditation classes. OMMMMM.

But, yeah, XP scrolls are the best. Aside from a new cute kitty for my collection <3
