Im not TIGHT on money, It just so happens I didn't get the best hours this past payment due to an non work related injury. So leave your "don't play games" comments away. Thank you

Hey, I was charged twice when validating my payment option. The charges are both still pending and I currently have no money for food in my account now. That is $30 that I can't use for food for the week. Please re credit my account with my 30 bucks asap.

While it isn't my business what you do with your money, I have to agree with Ragnar. If you're this tight on money, perhaps you need to reassess your priorities.

i agree with this. if the sub fee for this game keeps you from buying food you shouldnt have bought it in the first place.

I suggest contacting Zenimax directly, instead of posting a thread in forums.

Posting here about this could result in a few things. Either it will get missed in the current rush of new(duplicate) threads Or..people will come in to rant at Zeni, people will defend Zeni, people will offer charity, people will lecture that you shouldn't be paying for a sub when 30 dollars means the difference between eating or not.

Contact Zenimax. Calling would possibly yield the best results.

Of course, if they'd put $0.01 though as a test this wouldn't be an issue, and he'd be playing 30 days free anyway.

Yeah I can see that, got to love the gaming community these days right? I have contacted them through their support 3 times on the issue and get a straight copy paste of the forum thread about once the validation process is done it will be re credited to my account.

Give them a break. We have all been guilty of spending beyond our limits at times. Just ask the gazillion Brits and Americans about their CC Habits! S/he prolly budgeted for the game, food and a free 30 days and didn't expect to be charged for authorisation, twice! I think you all should think of what you have said the next time you spend £500 on a TV you don't need then pay a min payment on your credit cards.

I'm not sure what you want us to do.

The logical step is to contact support. If you haven't done that, then you haven't taken the next logical step. I suggest you do that.

Whimpering on a forum about unproductive comments will not get you anywhere. This could have been handled by you by yourself without need of this thread.

They aren't actual charges, they are authorization holds. Sometimes the bank can release them, other times it takes 72 hours.

Actually, once ANY company puts a temp authorization through, it becomes up to your bank to release the funds (and bank policies are ALL over the place on this) ZoS doesn't have your money, so asking them for a credit won't fly (unless it's NOT a temp charge. If it's an actual charge then yes, by all means ask for them to address the situation)

Should they have asked for a different amount? Yes. banks will no longer authorize under $1 (at least here in Canada) but 1.01 would have been sufficient. Unfortunately, their system most likely wasn't set up to authorize anything other than the full price!

I agree, if your that tight on money, you should be using it for more productive things other than putting it on a video game.

Contact support, i don't know what else to tell you. I know a number is floating around to call ZOS company somewhere on the forums. Im sure if you googled it you could find it also.

For the food situation, go to your local church and explain what's gone on, I'm sure they will provide you with meals. Or hit up a soup kitchen. Can't you like borrow money or call up welfare anyway? I know in the UK you can call up the social office and have them give you either foodstamps or they'll give you money to support yourself.

I know what they are. They can be held up to 30 business days. His bank should be able to release it instead of waiting for it to expire.

Honestly, the problem might be bank there rather than Zenimax, Zen more than likely has nothing to do with it ever since it appeared on your account page. I would recommend calling your bank about either speeding it up or finding out what happened, if you need the money right away.

Friendly warning tho, you may very well get "We have 3 work days to release the money, har, har, har." from your bank and get even more angry. And I think they really do have 3 days.

It doesn't matter how much someone has in thier account. I hate seeing those replies. I was charged 3 times for my sub, with 3 pending charges. My bank says it will drop and clear by Wed, but with the 6 month sub at $77 x 3 charges that's a lot of money to not have access to for many people.

To OP, I feel your pain. I am pregnant, tired and grumpy, lol, and I had to both delay grocery shopping and paying my phone bill while waiting on my charges to drop. Guess my cravings will have to wait!

Have to agree with the many posts above. You say you aren't tight on money this month but you are intentionally spending about 50% of your bank balance on a game!

The reason for your shortage of cash at the moment is irrelevant. I think your priorities are skewed if you are intentionally spending around 50% of your bank balance for the month on a game. The extra amount 'on hold' is a pain I totally agree, but if that one extra payment of $30 is causing this much problem you really need to reassess.

Alright you two know how to comment. I appreciate it, obviously I'm not going to starve to death because of this but it will make things really tight for the week sense I wasn't able to work as much the week prior + bills for the start of the month. I'll live and be fine. I did however forget that its only monday and those charges were made friday so the weekend could have slowed the process sense its not a work day. I appreciate a few of you for actually being a good community member.

This happens every time I [and everyone I know] gets gas on a credit card. If you choose fillup they reserve funds beyond what you can possibly fill up in case you go that high and there are no funds. This can cause problems say if you have a 1k cc limit and are 850 balance and it reserves 150 but you only used 50 but then hop across the street to eat at a restaurant and find your card is declined. Usually they release the pending within 20 minutes but not always and it's no guarantee. It's why as an adult you always have to assume this can and most likely will happen that way you avoid it any time funds have to be verified, checked or pending for any amount of time. Never leave things that close when you have to rely on faceless corporations to do their jobs so you got access to your money to eat. You are number 1 of 9999999999999999 people. They don't care that directly.
