Personally I think meteor shouldn't be absorbed, and overload should continue to be absorbed/reflected.

You're committing 170-200 ult to cast meteor on someone, if they're running away from you with ball of lightning then there's nothing you can do to stop them.

On the other hand overload uses hardly any ult per cast and can be toggled on/off, if one or two light attacks get absorbed then it's not a big deal.

The problem with this is a sorc teleporting out of a group and absorbing the meteor making it count for nothing. 200 ult is a lot. On the one hand the burst/stun on light armor might be a lot on the other dragging the meteor out of a group causing it to do 0 damage sounds broken.

Maybe make the meteor do magicka or stamina damage or both to the teleporting sorc? The problem nowadays is transmute means you can't tell who is in light armor and likely a sorc just by glancing into a group of 20. Maybe there is an add-on that floats class icons above everyone's heads I haven't seen it.

Ball of Lightning only absorbs skills fired while there already is a BoL. If you cast a meteor while a ball is up, that's your fault. If you cast a meteor on a sorc and they teleport out of their group, they'll still get hit themselves.
It absorbs everything to include leaps. I’ve seen people try to pass off 30-40k leaps on those balls as players.

BoL is only a pet that can be hit by AoE skills and redirects certain skills. If you leap next to a ball, you will hit the ball as well, but that doesn't mean anything. If you cast a Meteor that gets redirected on a ground level Ball of Lightning, it can still hit close targets around it.

I agree @Taesar. Overload is the black sheep of the ultimate family. Everything that was special about it was striped, it's mostly a dead skill now, except for RPing darth lords

Come to the IC, and I'll teach you differently.

If you found a way to make it work, you deserve a awesome :)
Personally, i don't even bother with PvP anymore so I haven't tried it but for PvE it's a dead skill. It was already but at least it helped alleviate Sorcs slots scarcity issue with its third bar, but it's gone :'(

Meteor can be good on groups in lag. Tons of people get hit then. Against solo targets it’s ***

Rather than make ball of lightning not absorb meteor, how about allowing wings to reflect meteor again? And then buff meteor up by maybe reducing ulti cost to 125 or something of the sort. Magicka players get a good spammable ulti but at the cost of potentially being countered if they use it carelessly. There should be more counterplay in this game rather than less.
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

The bigger question is why would you slot a ridiculously expensive ultimate like meteor that gets blocked 99.9% of the time and the .01% that don't have the common sense to block it you probably could have killed with a few light attacks.

While it may not connect often, it's totally worth it when it does in my opinion.

Bigger question is why wings reflects everything including ultimates ? L2P noobs.

How many meteors can be reflected back and forth with wings/defensive stance? Why should one be reflected and not the rebound? What of the tooltip? lol Meteor pong sounds fun.

Crushing shock is a magic "beam" that can't be reflected. I think these semantics are a feature like animation cancelling in this case.

I don't even use the skill, I use streak. I still somehow feel my mobility being threatened in this thread. I don't think the other half of the skill description can handle a nerf... That doesn't mean they should nerf what makes it unique.

Meteor is already a crappy ult and now people want it to be reflectable and absorbable again?! :astonished:

You know what, just give us a magicka Dawnbreaker and you can butcher Meteor however you want.

Absolutely. The only good reason to run Meteor is for lack of a better ult—and that only really applies to Magsorcs anymore as our class ults are dogsh*t offensively.

DBoS still works great in BGs and Sotha, as the only thing it loses-out on is the 5k pen from light armor. But in a CP environment, the lack of more than half of your CP stars means DB is going to crit for about as much as a flame reach, so you're basically forced to run Meteor to have any kind of bursty ult, as much as it sucks.

I've actually been campaigning for a magicka DB for a while now. Here was the latest suggestion I made on the issue, designed in such a way that it doesn't remove any options from anyone else:

The description and the effect match. Meteor is a spell projectile and as such, used to be reflected by DK wings.
It's just that, since Ball of Lightening used to be the unwanted morph (everyone used Streak), they just forgot to add Meteor as an exception, the patch they decided - a while ago - Ultimates should not be reflectable (but Overload is lol).
As for Crystallized Shield, that ability was created after that change, and therefore already counts Meteor as an exception to the rule.

In short, although Meteor is a projectile, since it's an ultimate it was changed a while ago to be some sort of an exception to the general rule. They should make Overload unreflectable too, while they're at it.... for consistency :)

T.T overload is always black sheep of utilmate family.

    wha? I love Overload!

..but I don't PvP, if that's what this is about..

It's doesn't work with a lot of sets that other ultimates do. When is the last time you seen an overload user other then self? What do you think of two morph options?
