If you want to use the word "childish" incorrectly then by all means, I can't stop you. Just don't be surprised when nobody ever understands what you mean, because that's what happens when you use words in a completely different fashion from the way that everyone else who speaks the language uses them. You're a very narrow-minded person.smeeprocketnub19_ESO wrote: »smeeprocketnub19_ESO wrote: »poodlemasterb16_ESO wrote: »
You would never understand, I lost, as almost all adults, interest in vampires, werewolves, frankenstein, ghosts and other lame kids stuff when I reached my middle teens. You will too when you reach it. trust me
This is a problem of narrow-mindedness, where an individual perceives that only their way of thinking is the adult way of thinking and everything else is flawed. The reality is much more diverse.
I still love vampires and werewolves because I was fascinated with them as a child, as well as horror movies in general. Just because I am an adult now doesn't mean I have to toss that out because adults can't have fun or some rubbish like that.
I find it rather foul to suggest that one can't enjoy such things due to their age, or that they are "immature" because they enjoy them. I also still like comic books and action figures. That doesn't mean I am not an adult, I certainly deal with the unpleasant crap about being an adult enough.
You dont need to agree with me if you dont want to. Ok they suck blood and are dead and all that jazz, and you think its cool and you wanna be one too. Its all good, its ok. But I think vampires and monsters are very childish things! You really say I cant think that?
umm they aren't real, so no I don't want to be one.
Monsters are not even remotely childish. Monsters just become different things to adults. Hunger, poverty, homelessness. We can use monsters in stories to underline these problems, If you don't think on that level, no you probably won't get it.
I dont agree with you. I think monsters are childish. Most adults I know have no interest in such stuff and its my belief that most adults grows out of the fascination of supernatural sooner or later. But then again, how and when did the word "childish" become an insult? Cant it be a good thing?
Additionally, it's disingenuous at best to claim that you didn't mean "childish" as an insult. The term "childish" is, and always has been, a term which is used virtually exclusively in a pejorative sense. Heck, going back at least as far as the senate of ancient Rome we have records of "childish" (well, the word that translates to "childish") being used as an insult.
I think you guys are narrow-minded for not accepting I and many others think monsters are childish.
And if you want take the word "childish" as an insult then by all means, I cant stop you. To me its no insult.

lol says person playing a fantasy computer game. IF this statement were true than many adults wouldn't go see these movies i.e. Underworld, or any type of vampire book, Bram Stoker would never have written Dracula, no vampire movies, books, No Stephen King book Silver Bullet, no Werewolf in London a cult classic, etc. etc. etc.
It is an insult. The adults you must know seem very boring at any rate. Probably spend all their time knitting and having brunch.

Indeed I find them boring, while they, on the other hand, think im childish for playing computer games etc. And they are free to think so. It doesnt change my view on computer games at all or make me feel any less then anyone else. And it should not matter to any of you if I think people that like monsters are childish either. Because I think you are childish.

So for those of us who choose not to be either, what abilities do we get to compensate for those getting extra abilities/buffs from being a vamp or werewolf?
Feels like being punished for staying human, but hey, what do I know I'm just a stupid pleb paying $15 a month for a broken game?
