How likely are you to recommend Elder Scrolls Online?

I'd recommend it to people. Theres a ton of fun in watching your character level up and feeling more powerful. There is some skill involved with this game and strategy aswell but its really just a novice level game. Some players (like me) get sucked into the black hole of "eso end game", we've completed all the content but now its about chasing the leaderboard or becoming a grand overlord in pvp.

    played since beta
atleast before morrowind I would recommended this game to friends
now after how much ZOS with ESO lost in my eyes? Im trying to explain if someone ask for this game as Im cursed by TES series and even when ESO is bad state for this what Im doing in it Im still playin it because of hmmm....ignoring fack Im masochist while playing some of ESO content and while just playing ESO in overall (loading screens, ping jumping from nowhere and FPS drops, bad management with maitenances etc)

now I dont recommended this game to anyone even when I still play this game as I feel Im masochist in and % when I still play this game after that many ZOS fails in it

I have in the past, but with the long load times, dc to dashboard, lag even in pve at times, skills not firing, the "check your connection" dc(even when I have one) and if all the stars and planets are aligned Xbox live is having a core issue I just can't to a friend. Great game when it works, but issues are mounting and we get rainbow colored skins.....

A year or two ago, definitely would recommend at least trying. Now? Hell no. Most I'd recommend is just waiting for a free-to-play event, seeing how you like it, and if you do, keep an eye on what Zenimax is actually doing with the game.

Why? Because the game performs like utter dog ***. In terms of how smoothly both the client and servers perform, how responsive the client is, how stable the client is, and how buggy the game in general is. Balance issues aside, the blatant neglect of the game from a technical front is killing it for not only me, but many, many other players.

Some players continue to enjoy the game, but admit that the neglect is taking its toll on them. Others find it increasingly difficult to justify logging in for the same broken mess, and some, like myself, have simply hit the breaking point where they cannot continue. No matter which way you slice it, the blatant neglect of the game from a technical front is slowly killing it, and it has been for years.

I dunno, end game takes so long to get to ontop of max cp for a new player and a lot of the fun comes from there at least for me
so all the gear needed, all the right traits, all the characters needed and levelling needed. it's months of progress if not a year for a new player to get in to it

I love it. A lot of the complaints I see in here are nit-picking or involve issues I have never encountered. At the same time, there are issues I have with it, but nothing fatal to the game. Yes, it has its warts, but I have yet to play a "perfect" game.

    Depends on the person.

I'd advise it anyone who like mmoish casual games with good quests, stories and lots of exploration.

i would not advise it to anyone who is looking for (progressive) raiding, challenging mechanics or "endgame" content.

ppl who play pvp games (moba/fps) usually start giggeling when u mention mmos. or u might lose your reputation of being a "real" gamer xD

Its the perfect game for (close to) burned out raidleaders to recover from the braindmg taken over lootdistribution, geartiers, parroting mechanics time and again, arguing with triggerhappy dds over their amazing dps being pointless, when they whipe the grp for failing mechanics. and no, your new girlfriend cant join tonight, cause i dont replace someone who played with us for years w/ a one night stand, and shes a terribad healer.

Very likely. The combat balance is the stuff that nightmares are made of. But besides that, it's the best and most innovative MMO on the market.

I'm sorry, but I don't recommend ESO to anyone. It just keeps getting worse. I only keep playing because I have a huge investment in it since I've been playing since BETA.

Haven't recommended this game to anyone since before Morrowind expansion. The elder scrolls of heavy attack online has gotten stupid since they nerfed regen and even worse after nerfmire. So I dropped my sub and won't spend money on this game anymore. Only thing they care about is money so its the only way to make them listen!

Apparently not very likely. Which isn't the answer I'd expect to give, but that's the reality.

When they had the recent free trial I thought about sharing the announcement on Facebook or suggesting it to a few friends directly and decided it's not worth it. Although that's partially because: a) I did that with previous free trials and got little/no interest from my friends,
    b) by the time there was an announcement to share (which is what made me think about telling people) the trial period had started and they'd have wasted most of it downloading the game so it didn't seem worth it,
    c) I was out almost all day on the Sunday and I wouldn't want to recommend a game to a friend then not be around to meet them in-game or answer questions when they're brand new.

I later found out one of my friends had tried to play it and had spent all weekend downloading it and trying to get it to run only to find out the specs she'd seen advertised for Mac were the old ones from before they changed the minimum requirements and her machine couldn't run the game. I ended up recommending a different game for her to try instead.

I'm not against recommending ESO, but I think it would have to be to the right person, and at the moment that's no one I know.

A couple years ago I would have, and did. During the past couple years it has become more clear that Zos is very inconsistent in how they manage the game which has driven some I know away.

That might change since Garrett has stated they are now working to "codifying our vision and long-term strategy for combat". My thought is finally after all these years. If they truly create a vision and stick to such ideals then we might begin to see something good come of it. If it is merely nothing more than empty words, as they have used the term "vision" before then we will see more of the same.

Vision and reality have two very different definitions.

vision: we will make it happen!!
reality: OMFG!!! they really are spending millions each month in the game and we arent doing anythign to make it worth all the money players spend

regardless of the issues they(ESO) have as of late, it is still the best finished product on the market without a true P2W cash shop. Although I personally cannot wait til something better comes along as those issues Zos has had make me have no loyalty to this game atm.

It depends on who I'm talking to. I'd engage them in a conversation and ask them about their gaming habits, what they like and dislike in games. It's not about whether or not the game is right for me, it's about whether or not it's right for them. Are they a firm objector to microtransaction monetization schemes in games? I'll tell them to avoid ESO like the plague, because unfortunately, it has it in droves. Do they want a game with expansive single player questing content and well-developed world space full of lore? This game has that in spades - so much so that I'd say it knocks the pants out of all the other Elder Scrolls games released to date. On the other hand, this same player might be concerned about other players ruining their experience. Answering honestly, I'd tell them that yes, this can and does happen and has been made worse... and that much of your questing will be away from player hubs where you have to deal with seeing obnoxious, immersion breaking outfits and mounts all over the place. The game is great for some, not so great for others.
