I am sure that statement is going to create a lot of rage and people claiming that trials and VMA are unrelated, but to a lot of people it shows you know how to play PVE in this game and handle yourself (and they are right). Cant blame anyone but yourself for a VMA title (or lack thereof).
lol yeah, I recently saw a discord server blow up over this topic. People have very strong opinions on vMA, and certainly there are more impressive achievements to boast of having, but flawless in vMA does show you can handle yourself. Doesn’t mean you can’t if you don’t have the achievement, but others might be more skeptical.
Yeah, it can be a touchy subject. And certainly, its not gospel that if you have Flawless you are good and if you dont you are bad. One the best healers I know has never even cleared the place. But as a DPS, VMA tests your damage, your survivability, and your ability to follow basic mechanics. All of those things are relevant to trials.
Also, any idiot can pay someone to carry for a skin. Unless you are really going outside the TOS and paying someone to take over the controls, flawless must be earned, not bought. So while it might not be the hardest PVE achievement in the game (lets be honest, that's Master Angler) it is more relevant than others as a benchmark of basic skill in this game because you cant be carried.
Sidebar: not totally relevant, but back when I was leveling a second account (gave up on that endeavor), I got Stormproof the second I hit CP 160. Tricky, but frankly easier than that place was at launch. Anywho... The number of whispers I got in Groupfinder basically saying, I was going to vote kick you for low CP but saw your title was way more than I anticipated.
Agree with others - a progression trials guild is a solid way to get skinned. I got my vMOL skin in a progression trial guild - learning and beating a DLC trial to get a skin everyone wants is one of the really rewarding experiences you can have in this game.
Everyone buzzes hard when the last boss goes down. I’m a PvP player but that really was worth the time and effort.
Not surprised about the Flawless requirement - I hear that is defined as No death with no sigils either lol:)
