How to find people that are willing to do veteran tirals where you get skin?

aqunnna

Hi,

I really like sanctified silver and fabrication sheath skin, but can't find group of people willing to do trials that give you those.
My question is, where to find a group of these people? Im really starting to lose all hopes. Im doing trials regularly and still no luck for these or any other skin. I would be happy with any skin.

Usually you'll find them on community sites e.g. facebook, reddit, xbox groups etc.

I've got in a couple from joining pug vet trials and asking if anyones got a progression guild doing them.

Alternatively yeah buying a run if you just want the skin.

Have you checked this list for the requirements of the skin you seek? You're doing the trials in veteran mode (hard mode, for the sanctified silver skin)?

As other have written, joining a PVE devoted to trials run is your best bet.

Most guilds would usually turn you down if you show up there ''just for the skins''. Most of them require commitment. You'll need to be mentally ready to progress, get better and establish yourself inside a guild roster. It will take time so don't be frustrated at the start if you can't see a light at the end of the tunnel. Patience is your friend and always try to improve yourself, not only in terms of gear and numbers but also your knowledge of the game and trial mechanics.

And yes, some ppl are selling skins so if you're that type of a person (no offence), then make sure to check Craglorn zone chat regularly.

Pretty much what people said above. If you are just looking for the skin the best thing to do is buy a run. It would definitely not be cool to join a progressive team, and bounce once you got what you wanted. I have a guildie on pc na that sells skins. If you are interested in that I will get you his contact info.

Dedicating a large portion of your gaming time to beating on a dummy. Sounds fun right. Because these progressions are also gonna demand you pull 40k+ DPS. It’s lame af.

I'm not even CP 810 (currently 650) and already pull over 40k+ DPS. It didn't take a large portion of game time beating on a dummy.

I'm not in a progression guild yet, but that was the goal and as such I have been trying to make sure I don't waste anyone else's time by knowing what I'm doing before joining. I don't think it's lame af as you so eloquently put.

It’s not like that for most people. At all. Congratulations on your 40k+ though! There’s one other thing. After your done with your progression team. And everyone goes about their separate ways. You’ll likely never run them again. And if you do, it’s likely as part of another progression.

Its not lame. Players who have a skin dedicated time to getting that skin as in they got there toon to where it need to be to get that skin. Not getting your toon to where it needs to be and expecting to find a group to get the skin is really like saying you want to be carried which is unfair to the rest of the group. Those are end game rewards for dedicated players who have put in the time, not for the ones who just like the way it looks.

You're going to need a large chunk of money. Or be a god at the game with a guild that does them.

It's a damn shame, I'd love the necromancer skin and personality. Heck, I'd happily pay crowns for them. But they're locked behind content I know I'll never be able to do.

You arent going to get into a skin run over night unless you bribe some people. Join a PVE guild. They advertise in zone all the time. Look for one that does vet trials. Join their open raids, don't die, and post your DPS after each boss fight. You arent going to start in VMOL, VHOF, or VAS +2 most likely. Show you can handle yourself in craglorn trials and you will get invited to harder stuff.

Most likely you will cut your teeth in a trial guild with VHRC and VAA. Ro Kotu (HRC) and Varlariel (AA) are well known parsing fights. Show you can nuke the easy stuff and you will get invited to the harder stuff.

It's usually knowing people and proving you are capable of playing the content.
Unfortunately a lot of progression groups do part ways after getting the skin they originally started the group for. But not all.
My group was a bunch of like minded people from a social guild that spent months progressing vMoL, but ended up staying together to progress vHoF, HM vMoL, vAS +2 and are now working on vCR. Honestly just put in the work to be good at the game, and find a bunch of people that are at a similar level that you get along with and just start a group.
If you are someone who doesnt have the time to commit to that you'll have to pay up to get the skin. However I'll say the satisfaction of finally beating something as a team after a month of working hard on it is genuinely worth the work.
    IMO.

Also, if you havent already, go get your flawless title in VMA. It might sound silly, but in my experience, people are going to take you more seriously if you have it.

I am sure that statement is going to create a lot of rage and people claiming that trials and VMA are unrelated, but to a lot of people it shows you know how to play PVE in this game and handle yourself (and they are right). Cant blame anyone but yourself for a VMA title (or lack thereof).

lol yeah, I recently saw a discord server blow up over this topic. People have very strong opinions on vMA, and certainly there are more impressive achievements to boast of having, but flawless in vMA does show you can handle yourself. Doesn’t mean you can’t if you don’t have the achievement, but others might be more skeptical.

If you are looking for a serious pve guild which does DLC trial content and cant hit 40k dps on a 6mil dummy with the current power creep in the game, its just sad.
Also rotations are so simple in this game, you can learn them in like 2 hours which I wouldnt define as "large portion of your gaming time", so your statement is invalid.
On top of that, dont expect to get into high-end guilds straight away, join some lower end / middle of the pack guild, get some experience and go from there.

also... roll a nightblade as a dd if you want people to take you serious

Just hangout in Craglorn a bit, and pay attention to zone chat. People drop from raids all of the time, and most of the time a call is put out in zone for a replacement. Works for me often, and I don't need to meet any absurd DPS or gear requirements.

Yeah, it can be a touchy subject. And certainly, its not gospel that if you have Flawless you are good and if you dont you are bad. One the best healers I know has never even cleared the place. But as a DPS, VMA tests your damage, your survivability, and your ability to follow basic mechanics. All of those things are relevant to trials.

Also, any idiot can pay someone to carry for a skin. Unless you are really going outside the TOS and paying someone to take over the controls, flawless must be earned, not bought. So while it might not be the hardest PVE achievement in the game (lets be honest, that's Master Angler  ) it is more relevant than others as a benchmark of basic skill in this game because you cant be carried.

Sidebar: not totally relevant, but back when I was leveling a second account (gave up on that endeavor), I got Stormproof the second I hit CP 160. Tricky, but frankly easier than that place was at launch. Anywho... The number of whispers I got in Groupfinder basically saying, I was going to vote kick you for low CP but saw your title was way more than I anticipated.

I agree with Taeser. Work on grabbing some of the DLC dungeons skins first. You will meet the right folks over time that may have an opening for a Vtrial spot. It takes time to find the right group, I would say that's harder than getting your SS skin. GL
