Why resto ulti is always, in every istance Better (and sometimes cheaper) then every other healing ultimate?

it's like healing ward, only gives it's strong heal to one target. Life giver only gives spell casts, but those spells are multi-person cast (2-6 targets at most depending on morphs used).

    Lol no

Resto staff ult only heals 1 target every second for 5 secs. So it only heals 5 people total for the whole duration. If it’s only you you’ll get 10 secs of major protection.

Soul siphon doesn’t have AOE caps so you can heal 24 people at a time. Just on a low damage build it will heal (tooltip so 50% of these values)

11.5k upfront heal to unlimited people.

33k over 4 seconds. So about the same healing as resto ultimates entire healing duration.

Major Vitality to all effected by the heal. 30% increase healing to offset the difference of major protection

Synergy with 14k damage and healing for the damage done.

So essentially two of the four effects are equal to the resto ult. But resto only effects 1 person at a time.

    It cost 25 ultimate more.

If in a group of more than 2 people resto ultimate isn’t even close.

Now solo resto ultimate is incredibly strong.

Right but only that 1 person gets the protection from the 1 time it heals.

Resto ultimate plays leap from throughout the group. It hits 1 person for a decent heal and major protection for 5 secs. Then it jumps to the next lowest health target heals them and gives major protection for 5 secs.

It does not heal more than 1 person every second. It’s a single target heal with a lingering protection buff.

If you are by yourself it heals you on the first tick. Major for 5 secs. Heals on second tick major protection for 5 secs. Heals on third tick major protection for 5 secs.

At no point in time does a resto ultimate hit 24+ people.

5 people maximum per ultimate cast can get a heal. Could be a different person every second but not at the same time.

Soul siphon can hit 40 people at the same time with all the effects and heals to everyone the entire duration.

Remembrance isn't enough heals and you can't move or skill while channeling

The only good thing about trees: it's cheap

Siphon gives 2 seconds immortality, then it's gone

    Lol yes?

When's the last time the resto staff itself actually did something for you? When are you light attack weaving something dead with it? When are you using the channel for that tremendous two seconds Major Mending? When are you actively switching to your resto to benefit from the Restoration Master passive?

The weapon itself is super useless. It's certain potent skills like Healing Ward, Combat Prayer and Light's Champion that make it desirable - and that compensates for the weapon's crappiness.

Because it forces you into slotting a useless "weapon".

Wrong. Resto ulti heals a target, that target also gains 5 seconds of major protection.

You are still giving 5 seconds of major protection to everyone while also doing other stuff. And since is on a 5 second scenario.

Not to everyone. To up to 5 different people 1 second apart from another.

Only 5 people total will be affected by this ultimate.

Siphon does give 4 seconds of major vitality. To everyone on the alliance that in range.

I’m not saying they don’t have their places but resto ult being better in EVERY way in all scenarios isn’t true.

Which means everyone. It works that the ally with low hp gets the heal tick (an thusly the protection). Who's gonna get heal? Bud that already took it and got 5 secs of protection or Tiz that didn't and is getting bleeded by 3.5k per second?

If 30 people are all low health it will pick 1 person per second to heal. Not all 30 people instantly like soul siphon does.

Still. 5. people. with. major. protection.

And statistically in those 30 people 5 more would have resto ult if not 10

Comparing major vitality to major protection. Is like comparing planes with cars

Major vitality is more easy to get and much less useful then major protection

In BGs, typically one player (maybe 2) is getting focused. That single player usually uses all or almost all the ticks and therefore almost if not all of the major protection.

The odds of more than 1 or 2 different players actually getting the resto heal is very low.

When I use it, I'm usually the only player to be healed by it (using it when I'm in execute range etc)

Good lord! Resto ult is one of the very few things keeping non-pet Sorcs remotely relevant anymore. Leave it the hell alone.

Vigor>roll>Cloak on a Stamblade is comparably effective for alleviating pressure and facilitating an offensive window.

Which do you reckon is easier to spam?

Yeah because mag and LA builds don't suck enough this patch. :D

They can nerf resto ult AFTER they adjust the damage on some of these stam skills that hit near the power of ultimates. You know something is wrong when a stam skill is still useful on a pure mag build. But ZOS knows how to balance the game...

Edit: 2nd part was general response

Light's champion is the mainreason I die an average of less than 2 times in BGs. Say what you want, but in specific situations it's stupidly strong. It's basically a reset the fight button and can easily save your team from a coordinated ult dump. I used to run with blood spawn after Murkmire and could basically cast this every time a teammate got into trouble. I am saving people at the click of a button without being a healer at all and the benefit of going on the offensive right away again. It's also a great offensive ultimate as you don't have to worry much about incoming damage and it negates more than half of the crit resist of people with 7 golden impen in no CP.

Sure if you are zergsurfing in CP PvP it's really weak, but in proper smallscale it can be insanely valuable. Especially for a class like sorc that can cast it at reduced cost and doesn't have much team healing otherwise.
