Those who exploited the group finder tool by teleporting to Fungal Grotto to receive their rewards during the entire duration of the event, while justifying it and calling others toxic and stupid for not following, should be punished.
You can't just let this go ZOS...
Cause it's not fair to those who do things legitimately, actually put in the time and effort and actually have some interest in playing the game for others as well.
Taking away the rewards from these exploiters hurts a ton more than a ban in my opinion and is a good way to make your point across without hurting the population.
It's an obvious exploit by definition.

What if they only did it in pre-made groups where everyone agreed on TP'ing to FG1? Should people be punished for a victimless crime?

I just imagine the person who bought my Fang Lair Chests motif (that I got in my pre-made), from the guild trader, suddenly realizing they don't know the motif anymore, and they just accepted the master writ that required it
Uhhhh...you do know that you can get the tickets without using the group finder...and for all I care... take my ugly pony pet...and all the motifs...open up some bank space...

Imagine doing DLC dungeons like Moonhonter Keep 15 times or more every single day with a pug where you have no healer, no tank and people just running off and leaving others behind.. And with the group tool bugging out and you only have limited time to play in the evening or you have to rush before the event ends. I understand why people port to something more fast and easy

This whole "issue" doesn't matter to me one way or the other. That being said, it doesn't matter if there is a "victim" or not...the fact is people are doing an end-run around the system, exploiting an unforeseen loophole. The event is supposed to give rewards for completing a RANDOM dungeon, its not random if you port to FG1(or wherever) so therefore its wrong and cheating. Just like people who whine endlessly about vet DLC dungeons being in the random queue(come on people, vet DLC dungeons really aren't that hard) the term random means it could be any dungeon from those on your active list. People whine about being punished for ESO+ subscribers having to deal with the DLC dungeons...but lets be realistic...you signed up for ESO+, presumably because you wanted access to more content without having to buy each and every one...therefore you have no right to complain when you are given more content, through group finder or otherwise.

when you have the person who just threw a bow on their crafter and can only snipe spam from the back... the vDLC dungeons are literally impossible. Those are the people who were queuing for this event.

EU PC 2000+ CP professional mudballer and pie thrower"Sheggorath, you are the Skooma Cat, for what is crazier than a cat on skooma?" - Fadomai
That's even worse tbh. That's organised exploiting, no doubt with the idea that nobody can report you that way.
I have no doubt that this exploit will continue to be abused even after the event ends by many people.

Doesn't matter. You have the option to leave or kick. Bad luck is not a valid reason to exploit.
That's like saying you'll start stealing cause you have bad luck with interviewers to get a decent job lol.
But like we don't enjoy carrying bad pugs in dlc dungeons that just spam snipe
