I want official statement.
ALL other titles bought from Steam are playable without Steam. Just keep it in mind.

Have you read the topic? There is no technical problem to just let Steam players that already bought the game the access via regular launcher. FOR FREE.

I WANT to play the game. I’m getting to the point of NOT wanting to play.

Actually you already can do this, regular launcher is inside the game's directory. You can start it. You just can't login, because you haven't payed for the game twice yet

Maybe I’m doing it wrong. I bought the base game from Bethesda (not a 3rd party ugh) and don’t have the download button for Bethesda launcher. I try using the exe from a snide the game files and it tells me to login through steam. It’s crap.
I assume you need to tag them for that.Malem_Benign wrote: »Some official reply will be very appreciated here...
That's on you only. Tells us something about you.I have little sympathy for anyone who bought an MMO type game through Steam.
Who are you telling this to? To people who don't use steam? I have no problems with steam. For a long time. Well, almost, only small ones like mediocre-bad browser in general and especially during sales. Other small things sometimes but nothing on the scale you assert here.Any game that requires frequent updating for that matter. All you have to do is just a smidgeon of basic research to see the problems people have with Steam.
Why are you blaming steam for that? That's most probably publisher's/developer's idea. They just love that. Steam definitely doesn't demand such things which is proven by thousands of other games.I learned the hard way too when I could no play a stand alone game like Civilization without an active Internet connection. This is an issue that is on the buyer and Steam.
Never understood why anyone bought this game though Steam. I like Steam when it benefits a game, but this game gains nothing from being Steamified.
In any event, the time has long past the point where they need to have this game saddled with Steam verification.

I bought it on Steam simply 'cos I knew little about the game. It was on sale, picked it up and ended up loving the game. 800+ hours on Steam. Also many people just stick with Steam for PC gaming and don't realize you can even buy it from ESO's website.
Since ESO had the base game on sale recently, I re-purchased it so I can rid myself of Steam.
