I don't get fake tanks often in Veteran dungeons.

I fake tank in normals cause I can use dodge key.

I know how they can fox rework cp and then rebalance dungeons so that it's actually better to have a tank, healer and 2 dps not 4dps
    DC PC NA
    Magdk - main
    Stamcro - alt

AD PS4 NA -retired (PC runs way better to play on console)
    magdk
    magblade
    stamplar
    magden
    magsorc

I second your ideas. I actually suggested such a thing to my girlfriend a few weeks back!

Also, it sounds obvious, but having some sort of option to “kick as fake”, then if you get 3 or 5 or however many “kick as fakes” in a certain period, you’re forbidden from the activity finder for a certain period - that might be a big enough threat to stop a lot of people from doing it.

Along with this, implementing a feature that allows us to “block” certain players then not placing us in a group with people we’ve blocked could help, particularly with the issue of kicking someone because they’re not their role and keep getting them again because they keep queueing as a fake, often specifically for that dungeon or pledges.

Kicking as fake doesn't seem like a good idea, with too many flamers online too often this will only make the PUGs more toxic.

I have to say the OP's idea isnt bad, its the first one I have seen that doesn't try to qualify you for a role based on skills or gear equipped, just on how well the basic job is performed. I would approve as long as the final score is not visible to other players....just whether a player is qualified to tank/dps/heal(viewing scores would just lead to more stupid elitism)

The problem with running a healer all the time is when you get a fake tank you become the defacto tank. If I wanted to tank I would run a tank. I don't Like tanking. So these days I only go with guildies or run solo on a sorc.

The best way to mitigate the 'fake tank' problem is a trial finder with no option for vet, and no option or bonus for random. Instead of weekly trial coffers, have an undaunted member give you a new one each day. Trials finder should unlock at CP300, with nHOF / nMOL being CP450. Players can still create a trial group manually at any level.

Make the random dungeon / random BG xp bonus one slightly bigger pool that the player gets for completing either of the following.

    1 Random normal dungeon
    2 Random veteran dungeon
3 Trial of the players choosing
4 Battleground (or keep this separate as it is PVP)

That would mean, players fake - tanking for Random normal / vet XP can get it from any Trial of their choice instead.

The consequence of this would be that far fewer DPS players would be queuing in the Dungeon finder as they'd all be scooped up in the Trial finder. Fewer DPS's in queue means less irritated DPS players, which means the benefit of faking as tank is diminished as DPS queue times are reduced.

Really there are only 2 ways to fix this.

1.) Make the role system a locked role system like other games so when you make your character you pick your role of Tank, Healer, Damage dealer and have to play with only selected skills and gear.

2.) Remove the trinity of tank, healer and damage dealer and this could be done just as easy as this game already has most of this in place already. This is not something that is easy and would require a re-scale of dungeons and trial difficulty to allow a non-trinity group.

The only way to remove the fake tanks, healers and damage dealers is to lock the roles the other is to remove the trinity. And even then to many would leave the game do to these changes but it could make alot of people play the game.

And no a gear score will not help ether not with the gear system they have in the game now. They could if the made gear scale like in other games but that would mean the removal of One Tamriel which again would make alot of people leave the game cause it would be just another WoW clone then.

EDIT: There is a 3rd way and that is to have to game scale the mobs to act like there is not tank or healer in the group so it adjust damage values to that of 4 dd's they did this in DCUO for 4 man content and it worked out better cause if you set a role the content got harder do to that fact you had a tank or healer.
