I get what you're saying, would be awesome when you call a mount it would have additional slot or presloted rapid and you just Y+B and bam you're on rapid . PC users can get away with this, because you can slot while riding without stopping, or install addon that changes skills in a second.
@MaxwellC Don't mind Acrolas, they have a lot of internal conflict that they express through their forum presence.
I would actually find it really cool ! Also, perhaps different kind of mounts could have different kind of damages. Following VaranisArano's trampling comment, it could be fun if wolves, senches and bears could have some sort of biting damage (idk, perhaps wolves' have a chance of slowing, and senches of bleeding and bears of fearing), whereas horses, elks and camels would trample (with each some form of additional effect), and so on with the others.
Can you imagine a pouncing Nix Oxen mount? I already hate them when I meet them in the wild, I'd run away screaming if I saw a hint of an enemy player riding one x)

I was wondering why can't we imbue mounts with certain abilities?
I thought to myself as I had to stop and change a skill just to slot rapid manuvers (solo PvP player), why not allow us to imbue skills we unlocked into mounts via quest, resource, or consumables. You could add other abilities that stop you from getting dismounted, increase defenses while mounted, etc.
All of these suggestions would be a singular skill you could add to the mount (one skill only). Some may suggest that it'll make some group abilities useless but remember in PvP these effects only work when you're in a group and in PvE you could slot the skill yourself.
Thoughts?
Skill and abilities are opportunity costs. If you want Rapid you're going to have to give something up.
Also I'm not sure what "solo PVP" is, unless you just have a lot of internal conflict that you express through your character.
