Brilliant Idea! PvP gear from PvP & PvE gear from PvE!!

Hi ZOS,

Why do PvE players need to run Battlegrounds to get "The Best" PvE gear (Spell Strategist) while PvP players need to Run PvE content like VDSA to get "The Best" pvp gear, like Master's Bows, Masters 1 Handers, Masters Ice Staff?

What if you put Master's gear on vendors in Imperial City for like two million TelVar, and PvE gear like Strategist in content like VDSA and Vet Blackrose Prison? Then players could earn the gear they need doing what they actually enjoy doing! I know, I know. Minds blown. You can thank me later!

If only you had an elite group of advisers who spend all of their time playing the game and publicly evaluating gear sets so that you could better itemize your new gear sets like strategist and sloads and.... wait, wait! I know you could give them special titles like "ambassadors" and pay them next to nothing but still get all that great advice!

No. Who decides if a set is good in PvE, PvP, both, or neither?

u know it's easier for the most to get spell strategist from pvp rather than vDSA

Because, from the outset, Zenimax has stated they want players to enjoy all of the game content. That's been a key design element since the first lines of code were written.

Also it's just a player opinion about which sets to use in each application. And the idea of one set being 'Best in Slot' isn't really true anymore, not to the extent it once was, unless an extra 2% damage/sustain/stats is absolutely critical to you.

Lastly, 'the best' comes and goes. You actually don't need any of that stuff you listed to excel at any game content.

What would PvPers sell then? Soul Gems?
    Dalek-Rok - Argonian Sorcerer || Dalek-Shād - Argonian Nightblade || Dalek-Shul - Argonian Templar || Dalek-Xal - Argonian Dragonknight || Mounts-the-Snout - Argonian Warden || Dalek-Xul - Argonian Necromancer || Two-Spires - Argonian Arcanist || Dalek-Nesh - Argonian Sorcerer || Dalek-Kör - Argonian Dragonknight
Don't incorporate bugs into your builds, and you won't have [an] issue.

Both PvP content AND PvE content is itemized. Somebody (in the Dev department) obviously makes a decision how we players get which loot from the content we do and where to put that loot. Is it such a leap of logic to allow players to get what they need from what they actually enjoy doing?

It isn't rocket science to look at which sets of gear the most for each type of content and then make that gear available through that type of activity. Forums and broadcasters all have guides for PvP and PvE and they are almost never the same yet they all tend to have similar gear choices for each set of builds. Usually these builds come out even before they updates with new gear go live.

As for how would PvP players make money? Pvp players would sensibly make money selling PvP gear to other PvP players.

Its also possible that ZOS delibrately puts good PVE gear as a reward for PVP activity and vice versa as a way to get players who only do either PVP or PVE, to get the involved in both parts of the game

Clearly this thread is in regards to obtaining spell strat... well you know you can simply buy the set if you're struggling in PvP. Only the player themselves decides what item(s) are considered a set for PvP/PvE, it all depends on the build they envision.

The point of doing this, along with putting certain essential skills in PvP and undaunted in PvE, is to get people to branch out and try the other modes of gameplay. Otherwise some people would never leave their comfort zone. For every one person like the OP that gets triggered and throws a fit, there’s another person who in trying the other type of content grows to like it and play it avidly.

It is in ZOS’ best interest to incentivize trying out other forms of content.Try to understand the logic before making posts like this.

It is there to keep an divide between those who are willing to go the extra mile for the best builds and those who are not.

It is not like you can not PvE without Spell Strategist. Also, while Master's Bow and Master's DW is certainly BiS and are super strong, it is still not like you can't PvP without them. I am willing to bet that lesser than 5% of PvPers got Arena weapons.

    Because players decide what's meta.

Look at Caltrops, obtained through PVP which is the only time in the game that you will ever face mounted enemies. And yet its a staple in every end-game PVE stam character's arsenal.

There have been times when PVP sets were BIS for PVP, like when Black Rose from IC was BIS for heavy armor. Now, you're looking at overland PVE set 7th Legion in that same slot because Black Rose and its passives got nerfed.

    Players make the meta.

Actually Zos' nerfs make the meta. Players tears are just the catalyst. Also every time they try to push a dlc, they introduce some imbalanced set which is shortly nerfed after the dlc sales ween off.

ambassadors sounds like a better title. Also they get paid o.o.

Jokes aside you can do battlegrounds and select type you enjoy from drop down menu. Not all of it is killing kinda of pvp. Flag games might be enjoyable for you.

But spell strat is also good for pvp, for single target focus/duels.

Caltrops was an buff as caltrops used to not stack and did not do much damage.
This was changed and was an good buff for stamina AoE. However the orign was to dismount players in pvp.

And yes its an clear strategy to have people do all content. PvE wins here as most PvP items can be gotten in zergs or bought. Plenty of PvE items is far harder to get.
This is migrated a bit in that its easier to get transmute crystals in PvP.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

its also an plan to swap out some of the reward of the worthy sets who are not used with new ones.

Ive played another game where the stats were different.

What if you still had your resources but damage and such were different stats based off pve and pve. Like 'weapon damage' for PVE but that was useless in pvp and the pvp equivelant was 'weapon ferocity'and only buffed damage vs players. Im sure it would be punishing for zos to balance. Just an idea.

Tbh i dont really care because so much myself since i play both anyway.

Put necro/viper/monster sets/ and many more, in rewards of the worthy. It’s used my pvp players after all.
