imperial city would work if they had rotating quests that where swapped out for new ones once a month, ie: if there was 4 quest per area that would rotate each day for a month

Getting rid of losing TelVar to deaths. Such a stupid concept and bears no mechanical significance on the game, other than, "here's another punishing element of ESO for ya!".

To me that is one of the most fun aspects of the area. It is the only zone where dying actually has a consequence. Sometimes it is fun to grab 10K telvar out of the bank drop into the sewers as far from home as you can then try and make it back. The threat of loss for me increases the fun. Plenty of places to die in the game with zero consequence.

Less PVE and farming in a PVP zone; more PVP that isn't ganking/bombing farmers. Whatever gets it there is good by me.

However, there are players that will never, ever risk death to a player in IC. In the interests of making the PVE community happy, I think an event where a truce was declared in IC to fight the daedra -- like the main story quest line -- would help satisfy their desires to do the minimal amount of questing and collect the skyshards. Just make TV not drop during the event, but you can still get Trove Scamps and kill Molag Bal.

Remove the tel var loss (or reduce it by a lot), and revert how reviving works to the pre-flag system. Before the flags, there was a very fun permanent brawl in the Arena district.

There are also only a few things that interest me that are available through tel var. Almost everything can be acquired another way, from storage containers to hakeijo.

Honestly, it's the worst parts of pve and pvp. Stealth and gankers, hoards of enemies that don't offer much beyond (a near worthless) currency. I wouldn't normally be in support of dividing pvp and pve, but it might be the only solution here. Perhaps make the sewers pvp and the city pve, or vice versa. Another option would be to drastically reduce the tel var loss in one of those, but keep the other to appeal to those looking for the high risk/high reward playstyle.

The majority of my memories of the city are negative, and mostly revolve around getting ganked or steamrolled. The only positive ones are from the arena district but they can't be replicated anymore.

During Extra Life day, our "Destroy All Monsters" event involved going into the sewers and trying to kill as many sewer bosses as we could find. We were a group of about 10, some of whom really don't like PvP. We got all the sewer skyshards and beat Molag Bal. We only got two of the wandering bosses unfortunately, but everyone had a blast.

I still go there from time to time to have a bit of a break from Cyrodiil. Most times I go there.. there are other players there. I would like it if the difficulty of the mobs were reverted to their original difficulty & if telvar loss was also reverted to the original amounts. More risk, more fun.

I've only been to IC to using special crafting stations that are there. I don't do PvP. So what would make me return there now that I'm in a guild that has all the attuned stations? Um...making a PvP-free version of it. A separate server would do nicely, thanks ZOS. Also let the PvPers have their open world PvP on their own server and we're all set. xD

Never gonna happen. For all their vociferousness, the number of hard-core PvPers would never support separate servers.

Never been there, so I can't return there. Won't go there, because it's a pvp zone (not saying that should change).

Heck, I just delete any master writs I get for IC crafting stations.

You know, you should really consider joining a trading guild that has a guild hall with all the crafting stations. Or if not that, you could always sell your master writs you don't want. Just saying.

If I could have my way:

Make it so that you queue in similar to Battlegrounds and have groups with a max size of 6, or you have the option to be solo if you just want to gank. Friendly vs Enemy is determined by your group instead of your alliance, so you could be in a group with a DC, EP, and AD character.

Flags give your team a % tel var bonus for holding the zone and still give AP, and are no longer alliance specific.

What happens now is it is either dead and boring, or you go on some guilds farming night and they steamroll everybody. This way it would be divided out into small group PvP and I think that would be way more fun.

If I want PvE, I don't want PvP. You have no choice in Imperial City. It must be fun fighting a player (or capture a point) when you have to worry about 60 Xivkyn with a Daedric Boss attacking you...Or trying to fight said Boss while someone decides to gank you.

I've never completed the story of Imperial City just because it's PvE/PvP. Usually I get distracted because I get into PvP combat too much. I just searched up the story to save me time.

This. I will never finish this dlc because of this nonsense. I build my Templar for pvp, can’t kill bosses. I build my Templar to kill bosses, can’t pvp.
Done with that BS city. It’s so beautiful and the story looks great, the Drake of Blades is interesting. But no, I got to deal with this bs.

This is my issue with the place - doubly so given I am focused on objectives when playing, so if I go there for story, I don't want to be interrupted by players looking to PVP (or just looking to be annoying gankers out to bother others).

On the flip side, when I want to PVP, I tend to play other games that do PVP better, and which let me focus on PVP without a bunch of story or PVE.

IMO this zone fails as PVP (I'm not into building some one trick pony gank build and stalking farmers) and fails as PVE (too easy to get interrupted by gankers), so I just ignore it.

Without a PVE / PVP split, and given the annoyance of getting to the zone, it is doubtful I'll ever go back.

I go to IC all the time. Its the best DLC. The glory days of huge battles in the Arena district were the best. Zos ruined this by making capturable districts and stop respawns. Some thing that nobody asked for or wanted which is the Zenimax MO.

create a pve only version. as long as I cannot quest there in peace cause gankers and other nonsense - I'm staying far far away. baring that, and this will possibly help people who are fine with pvp aspect of it. make it separate from cyrodil campaigns, or at least do not count imperial city population towards cyrodil mainland population limits.

No you won't. There isn't much to do there without the risk of meeting other players.

And it's very easy to spend time in IC and not meet anyone, so people who make your claim might as well just go there now.

    1. there is a pretty decent story and dailies you unlock after finishing story (that is assuming pve version won't be as effective of a tel var grinding spot) and NO, I cannot get over dying to players and do it now, why? becasue when you are killed by a player, you dont get to rez in place, oh no. you have to hoof it back to where you were originally from whatever nearest respawn place is, which is incredible waste of time. especialy when whoever ganked you is waiting in stealth to gank you again.
    2. last time I went to IC, I left with fewer tel var than I came in thanks to ganking (forgot to drop ome of the login rewards into a bank), so... your mileage may vary on that, but in my experience, its hellish solo, and almost as hellish when in a group.

in any case, YOU don't get to tell other people what they will or will not do. us carebears have our reasons to avoid IC entirely in its current state and just becasue they are not your reasons, doesn't make them any less valid.

Definitely making it portable from the home gates. And have a wayshrine inside that takes you back to your gates. But leave the entrances with a simple entry/exit function instead of exiting returning you to the gates. Maybe tie it into the alliance war somehow. IC flags contribute to score? Definitely real IC events that mean something. People would flock in for some neat collectibles or costumes that could be purchased with tel var. Double TV is meaningless when there’s really nothing of value. Someone said this up above, but it would be interesting to add a higher risk/reward to taking tel var. Carrying 10k tel var nets you the current 50%, and let’s say carrying nothing gets you nothing. And it scales in between.
