Yeah I was expecting at least 40-50% off the exclusive item. Then the free item we got I was expecting the huge Molag Bol statue. I was disappointed when it was a tiny little nightstand statue. It felt like something I would get from a vendor at a football game (here is your free water bottle kinda thing).

Oh well just having the DLC's and the Unlimited crafting bag is still enough for me to sub just disappointing in the appreciation to the players who are funding the game on a monthly bases. Kinda of a slap to the face again.

To be fair there are a ton of people who will pay, have crowns from monthly subscription is like me bought 2 5500 packs on the last crown sale. I think this is their attempt at getting us to spend some of that horded currency.

To me, this looks more interesting than the 3600 Crown spider for sale now. Of course, that means that it is too expensive for me to purchase.

Yea I'm not sure who thought this was a good idea, as if players wouldn't see through it. Like you said OP pretty sure they're just looking for more whales. They could care less about customer loyalty. Can't even give a lazy reskin of a mount to loyal subscribers. Just wait, if I remember right one of the exclusive rewards is a free dress. So if you have a male character sorry for ya.

ZO$ is really starting to show their true colors.

I bought the original spider for 4k crowns and after the FIRST reskin came out i was not happy and made me question why I would every buy something for that many crowns if it was just going to be reskinned.

ZOS can take their "exclusive" mount and shove it.

-3600 crowns for 1 mount.
Vs
-4000 crowns for your average DLC bundle, which includes new content, a mount, pet and some XP scrolls.

Seems like a no brainer which I'd rather use crowns on.

But it's not a first. They also recolored the Dwarven Senche black and made it a radiant apex mount.

I have generally been happy with ESO+, and I've been subscribed long enough to have the striped tiger mount. This month is the first time I have had negative thoughts about it, and they're strongly negative. It is the confluence of several factors:

The big login reward this month (free Murkmire) is useless to long-term subscribers
The special event this month, free ESO+, is useless to all subscribers
The special gift is a trivial discount on a $40 reskin. Am I a customer or a mark?

ESO+ is generally a good value. But this month, they lost track of how things would look. I hope they give it more thought in the future.

Lol that's pretty bad. When they first announced all this reward stuff and more crowns for subbing I IMMEDIATELY figured that crown store prices were going to increase and we would get a slight discount on some items. Zos's way of balancing it out while trying to make you think you're getting something more.

Tbh I suspected as much but I also thought we wou'd still get some free crates here and there during ESO+ free events. That's when I went from "neutral" to "GDI!". And when I saw the mount price : "urgh"

The prices of things on the store have encouraged me to never EVER buy crowns. Oh, I'll use the free ones I get as a subscriber, but only on those few things that I deem reasonably priced (and they're VERY few).

I've said it before, I'll say it again. They're seriously losing money with this kind of pricing. I might have bought several houses, several motifs and many other things... except that they're all so ridiculously expensive that I simply CANNOT. I don't have thousands of dollars to spare for digital knick knacks, and I'm FAR from the only one. Sure, they'll make some money on the few that WILL pay those prices, but they'll alienate everyone else.

Let me put it another way.

What would you rather have:

a) 10 sales of $100 dollars and numerous unhappy players
b) 100 sales of $10, and very few unhappy players

The revenue is the same in each case, but in the first instance, you have a lot of unhappy people. Unhappy people TALK about being unhappy, and that spreads to other players, and more significantly, to POTENTIAL players (read: CUSTOMERS).

It's stuff like this that makes me fear for the future of the game.
