Alternative small DLC ideas

I have an idea about alternative small DLC instead of constant dungeons.

For example:

Thieves Guild Part 2 - a continuation of TG where we have to help set up guilds around Tamriel.

Dark Brotherhood Part 2 - Morag Tong vs Dark Brotherhood situation. You help create a truce.

Extended Mages Guild and Fighters Guild quests.

Help free more soulshriven from Cold Harbour’s Wailing Prison

Help Harkon lock away Serana. (I like the idea of set ups like this that we play in previous ES games)

And a few others but you get the point. These would obviously be very small and should require no/little new zones. Content can be done very quickly within about an hour or so. 20/30 minutes if you skip dialogue and sprint to quest markers. (Maybe a bit longer?)

We would still get more item sets/styles

Please add any other ideas

I appreciate the time you put into this discussion OP, but, current DLC's can be beaten in one or two days leaving us feeling underwhelmed. So, even shorter DLC seems pointless if it can be beaten in mere hours.

Amber Emberheart | Breton Dragonknight | Stamina | Master Angler
Vlos Anon | Dunmer Nightblade | Magicka | Vampire - Free Bites

We need a way to access a crafting area faster! So for those of use that like to save a lot of stuff to research and deconstruct, we can just go to it with out having to just sell or destroy stuff to clear our inventory. You have a banker and a merchant why don't you have a traveling crafter that you can talk to and choose what you want to to reaserch or deconstruct. Also a Jeweler would be nice. A way to buy stuff for deconstructing and leveling your Jewelry crafting easier! Just a few Ideas. I also think some secret special quest that you could travel to hidden areas would be cool something that you would start in an interesting way and would take you to a place you can only go to for that quest. But you might also make it to where it unlocks so cool special place that you can visit to do daily quest. Just a small area that is fun to explore with fun little quest. Another way to earn some cool loot!

Uh. You mean earlier than level 6?

Anyway.... You can buy stuff for decon etc from the guild merchants. I haven't found it all that expensive - spent maybe 30k on a couple of nirncrux weapons and a triune neck. I take stuff like that slow, when I find something that's not outrageously priced I grab it.

As for "cool special places" to do dailies - nah, I just want to run my 12 girls around Vivec and get it out of the way so I can go quest.

Why couldn't OP's ideas turn onto long-running chains of events? For example, Morag Tong vs. Dark Brotherhood would be amazingly fun. Imagine the possibilities for dailies. What if you had to pick an alliance with one or the other, then do various dailies (or even weeklies) to generate reputation that opens up one or two new passives, access to a special gear set, etc?

I'm a fan of time sinks and rep grinds. I actually enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing them. Being as old as I am, i can attest that these things have been at the core of all MMOs historically. I've come to expect them, but they need to be fun and meaningful. This? This idea is fantastic, in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with new content. Ever.

Edit: Not enough coffee. Said TG instead of Morag Tong. My bad.

If I had the choice between a "Dungeon DLC" and a "Questline without new region DLC", I certainly would pick latter. But then, dungeons do nothing for me as habitual solo players, so... no surprise there.

Of course, I would much prefer guild-sized DLCs that do come with a small new region, but have questlines that branch out wider into many old regions (especially revisiting some "one quest only" places with new mobs for example).

I keep suggestion something like this for an "Cloak and Dagger" themed DLC (Well, this is ESO, so... hood and dagger?) that might go with an "alliance loyalty called in question" theme, and involve a big choice that splits the storyline, about either staying loyal and finding whoever framed you, or defecting to a different alliance... which might revisit a lot of familiar locations either way, but adds one new "neutral" city where spies meet to spy hard and all that...

...or at least guild outposts... in every outlaw sanctuary? A mix of dailies, and more involved heists... like, steal something from the important bosmer (king, silvenar and green lady), to gain their permission to operate through "rite of theft"; or gain blackmail material to pressure breton nobles into turning a blind eye, or things like that to gain under the table agreements from the rulers of each region to ignore the outlaw sanctuaries...

Maybe also re-establishing a second DB sanctuary? The destroyed one in black marsh we visit in one of the quests, perhaps? It would not be that hard to reuse that map, right, and build up some quests around it, assassin diplomacy with both shadowscale clans and the Morag Tong to allow this "rival assassin guild" to operate...

I suppose there could be questings involving diplomacy between mages and psijics...

...didn't her mother lock her away to keep her -safe- from Harkon???

Though quests that connect with other TES games are always a fun idea! There are many that I could see, though all of them would be a bit slim pickings for a "DLC" size, aven a "halfsize DLC"... personally I really would have wanted a questline involving helping a vvardenfell merchant to gain immortality too, through a pact with a daedric prince, said prince being clavicus vile... only to have the final mission go like: Clavicvus vile appears, talks with the merchant, goes like "Sure, immortality, how boring, but I will grant your wish..." then sports the player character and goes " YOU! You are the one who hurt my doggie? This is your friend?? Oh, he will get immortality all right... as a frigging MUDCRAB!!!" and zap... we have just witnessed the creation of the mudcrab merchant from TES-3:Morrowind... ;)

It’s a no for me. Even smaller dlcs would feel underwhelming when they come and I’m not a big fan of recurring themes. I’d rather have a new experience all together
