Cannot Redeem Code

AstraStarr
Hello, I played in the beta and my account says "Standard-packfront

Elder Scrolls Online

Member Since November 21, 2013

Account Status

Beta Access"

As with many others I cannot login to the game. I realize this is because I have to set up subscription- thats fine okay. So I enter "redeem code" and I get an error saying I need ESO to do this. I followed a direct link someone else posted to subscription page and received error... (see attached)

I own the game. Its totally installed. I own a PHYSICAL copy. I did not play in the pre-launch. I did play in the betas.

I am assuming the problem is, they never set up a way for the new games that weren't downloaded and existing accounts (beta ppl) to communicate with each other. So my game has no idea that my account is associated with it and vice versa.

There is no where or way to enter my game code or set up a sub on my account page.

Now what? An extra free month maybe or Imperial upgrade for free? Beta tested since November, when it was rough, but didn't tell my friends all the hiccups because I figured you guys would be able to get things together in time. Maybe not.

:( please help- I have already sent an email.

I played in beta, too, and I think I understand what happened. You shouldn't need to install from your physical discs.

On your account page, go to "Redeem Code" in the left menu. Put in the Game Registration Code that's inside your physical copy. Once you submit it, you'll get to the subscription page.

Yes but that is the problem. When I do that I get an error message that says "you need Elder Scrolls Online to do this", similar to the error message I posted a picture of.

See here- I have obviously cut out most of the picture because it shows my code, but here is the error message.

Hm. I'd try installing from your physical discs next. A friend of mine got that message, and she immediately installed from disc (I had just entered the code). It worked for her after install, so maybe that would work for you, too.

Have you gotten any replies from Customer Service?
  • AstraStarr
I already installed the disks and done a complete patch, and I have not.

Wow -- I'm so sorry. I wish I had another idea. Hope somebody else sees your thread and can help. :(

Hey there, folks. @amysue23_ESO is correct. Players need to make sure that they are entering their Game Code before attempting to redeem codes for the Explorers Pack, or anything else. Please keep in mind that your Game Code is different from your Early Access code. Thank you!

THANK YOU this was the answer for me.... well so far, I'm not in yet, but I was able to proceed to Sub. I will add I did not have early access so all that was confusing me. Please make it clear that those of us with physical discs... inside the jacket of the discs ARE TWO PAPERS WITH TWO DIFFERENT CODES. Not to be confused with people that had early access or online purchases. Nevertheless, this worked so far ty! "

Thank you for the help! I've been playing with the beta and then the patched beta launcher- and just got the physical copy in the mail. So when I got that error, I thought, what? I've already been playing all this time.
