Monster sets - shoulders

So for a few months now, I have been desperately searching for the Stormfist and Lord Warden shoulders in the medium weight.

I've been getting very, VERY frustrated with receiving the same 3-4 shoulder that I already have over and over again. The RNG with these chests are absolutely bogus and I am sure a lot of you all can agree on this.

Now, I am not one to think of the idea of recording clips of what happens, but last night, I had that very idea. I had 6 keys to use before hopping off for the night. Just getting into the undaunted enclave, I was already starting to get mad because I already knew (or so I thought) that I was going to get trash.

Wouldn't you know, the moment that I actually decide to record my experience turning in keys, to prove to everyone how bad RNG is........I actually get both the Stormfist and Lord Warden shoulders, in the weights that I wanted. Stormfist is infused like I wanted and the Lord Warden shoulders are divines, but I can always transmute.

Now I can finally stop searching for these until I think of a new set to use.

Yeah, that happens. One day I got the Stormfist medium divines helmet and used the key to get Stormfist divines medium shoulders. Was amazed. Especially since I have yet to see a Velidreth medium divines shoulders. Lots of heavy invigorating, though.

That is exactly how ESO RNG works. In order to get the items you want, you must employ double-think. Either think about anything other than the item you want, or think about quitting the game because you haven't gotten the item you want.

If you successfully cloud your true thoughts and deftly employ double-think, voila! Your next drop is victorious!

I once got the exact shoulders with the exact trait I was looking for on my first key used..

I have been paying back my debt to the RNG lords ever since.

Why do you need them in medium?

Just use whichever one you get first (either medium or heavy) and then farm the helmet in the missing weight. They are the same weight class, so it doesn't matter which one is medium and which one is heavy. You can farm the helmet in 1-2 runs of the dungeon.

I see so many people complain that they need medium Ilambris shoulders, while having like 5 heavy pieces in their inventory. Rather than spending 75 more keys looking for the medium shoulders, just run CoH one more time and get a medium helmet to pair with your heavy shoulders.

Ha, I hear you! This is nothing compared when we had no transmute station, that was real pain in da bum. I took me around 340 keys which took me 2 ,months just getting impregnable Bloodspawn and I was doing everyday, 2 vet daily dungeons and to be honest I enjoyed it , it was good break from PVP.
They could make maybe like a shop, where you can buy shoulders with keys. Like lets say 100 keys for a wanted trait and wheight shoulder, but the current situation is fine too. I usualy stack to alts and bank monster shoulders and helms, so if I need it someday I can go and get it from a bank and this idea is pretty helped me loads of times.

Why do you need them in medium?

    A few reasons:

    1. Since the helm has a higher armor rating than the shoulders, it makes more sense to have the helm heavy and shoulders medium ... to maximize overall armor rating without sacrificing a 5-1-1 undaunted setup.

    2. Not all players run a best in slot build.

    3. The world doesn't revolve around PvE DPS. Players can be seeking out Ilambris for a PvE off-tank role or niche PvP build.

I hate to break it to you, but 6 keys won't prove anything for the RNG. I opened about 40 chests over the last couple days and got 4 medium Lord Warden, when u was looking for a light. Even 40 keys doesn't mean much when considering an RNG.

Helmet and shoulder are the same armor weight. Their only difference is enchantment potency.

This is my favorite answer of any question ever! This method of "double-think" is so powerful, I'm considering using it in my job search.
