Reachmen Chapter and New class?

What would y’all think about a chapter devoted to doing a interaction with the reachmen clans? This is like winterborns, briarhearts, bloodthorns, etc. I’ve always been absolutely fascinated with them and I’d love to see them as the center of some lore. It could deal with thier current situation and also thier past with the Longhouse Dynasty and former Emperor of Cyrodil.

Maybe it starts out we are infiltrating their ranks or been taken captive and it leads into the progression somehow of us taking on a quest for them. With this it could open us up to ancient magic from hagravens and necromancy. This would make for a great reason to do a reachmen class that blends the two. A lot of us really want a necromancer class and this opens us up for a ton of abilities that could be created adding new spice to the game along with a ton of lore on the mysterious clans throughout tameriel

The next DLC is going to be Covenant based, so I doubt that is going to happen this time so maybe in the next one.

It's REALLY hard to get us into the Reach and make it well...Make sense due to how on edge Reachmen can be...

But, I would REALLY LOVE a Reachmen DLC/Chapter. I love those insane evil druids.
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

Dem Gravesingers :p All jests aside, I think that would make a great Necromancer class in the end

But Reachmen alrdy have had a DLC in which they were prominently featured, plus they are the antagonists on the island of Betnikh and the zones Glenumbra, Bangkorai, The Rift and the DLC Zone Wrothgar.

Me too. I run a small winterborn clan as a guild lol we just see them as savages it would be cool to see some more depth to them :)

They could have more though and it wasn’t really from thier view much. Reachmen have a long history and a ton of diffrent clans. They are a important part of tameriel. What if they were the protagonists this time?

Source? all hints point to Elsweyr. just because last chapter was based on a AD race doesn't mean that DC will be next. Factions are irrelevant in terms of content releases.

Nothing's been confirmed, officially or in mined files, about 2019's Chapter content.

After this year's counterfactual Spellcrafting sources, I'll take official announcements as they come and I'm certain Bethesda and ZOS have a reliable content plan in various stages of development and conceptual pre-production.

Speculation, especially passionate speculation, really only leads to disappointment when reality doesn't match the picture you've formed in your head. Sometimes it really is best to step back a little and focus on what you're doing in the game this week.

    Sorry but nope and nope.

The next logical Chapter would have to be Elsweyr, and we're not going to get a new class. Like I've said a dozen threads before, the Warden was a one time fluke because it already more or less existed since beta.

Bit of a stretch. Who says Raz will be in the next Chapter? You do know there is a Red Guard boat captain on the Murkmire pre-quests that says he is going to head west from Summerset to see what is out there. Plus from the video, I don't really think it's Elsweyr in the video.

Even more of a reason to make a new class. The game is 4 and a half years old. 5 by that time. A new class would be great imo

Would love a chapter dedicated to Reachmen. Would be way better than stupid elf content. I have a Reachman Warden character.

I've been dying to hear if we're ever going to get more Reachmen content besides standard area quests where you fight them and they just make your life difficult. Considering people have been asking for it since before beta and we have yet to see playable Reachmen content, I doubt we'll see it any time soon. We can always hope, but we're probably gonna be hoping for a while.

For now at least, guess we Reach lovers are limited to modding and console-commanding Skyrim to get our Reachmen fix.

    Reachmen Chapter and New class?
The Reach as DLC? Oh, I am sure someday that will come. (Expansions I hope not, would be better if they kept those for off-shore regions like Vvardenfell, Summerset, various islands around tamriel, oblivion planes, etc.; and mainland tamriel as all DLC powered...)

A new class? Nah... I am against is, as usual. For the usual reasons too - new classes only sound good for new players who have not yet gone through all the content with a dozend characters or more, and might feel extremely vexed both for reasons fo "Why the -bleep- do I need to do all that -bleep- content again just to enjoy the new classyness" and even moreso for reasons of "What the -bleep-, why was this -bleep- class not -bleep- available at -bleep- launch, it would have made so much more -bleep- sense for that -bleep- main/alt of mine, backstory wise..."

Personally, I want to see new skill lines like the Psijic Order. Which seems far more likely, and far less likely to vex half the people (and especially the half most likely to spend crowns on stuff, the long-time supporters of the game)

Either as standalone "guild" lines (though that really could use some "either-or" rules to make things more interesting!), of as "specializations" for the existing classes... like those old D&D "Prestige Classes"...

    ...

Now, alomng those lines of thought... the northern reach would make a pretty nifty setting for introducing the bardic college of solitude, or its predecessor institution (heck, maybe even a DLC featuring the -founding- of the place you revisit in TES-V:Skyrim), and the nearby reachmen might make a credible foe for that one.

And the specializations idea mentioned in the linked discussion could of course have "masterclass trainers" all over Tamriel, and/or send initiates hoping to attain such a prestige class to quests in far off corners of DLC regions... for example, I could imagine seeing Vastarie as "masterclass trainer" for necromancers, and a initiation quest involving stealing secrets from reachmage gravesingers... yes?

    ...

One more thing that comes to mind with a "Reachmen DLC" would be... reachmen as crownstore race. Which might be possible, the powers that be -could- envision them as seperate race... or just a different culture of bretons (much like house dunmer and ashlander; or orsinium orc and wood orc...). But thats up to those in charge at Development.

The Reach has less than zero to do with bards. Sheesh. The Reachmen are barbarians who plant seeds into the heart-cavity of their dead to make Briarhearts.

Kindly leave my bards and their college out of your icky undead Reachers and their even more icky hagravens.

However, I do see the Reachmen being tapped for necromancers. If y'all want to play that, fine, go for it. I'm out there though. Again, ICK. Though I suppose as adversaries.... Still, I had all I ever want of Reachmen and Hagravens in Skyrim.

    Exactly.
But they -are- right next door to Solitude where the bards college will be in later times.
Like i said... perfect storyline opportunity, right?
Save the bards who angered the brutish reachmen barbarians with their singing...

The reachmen are ethinicaly Bretons. They just fled to the hills rather than be reenslaved by the Direnni and so have a completely different culture.

So techinally could be considered convenant based chapter.

If they wanted to introduce necromancers, which i don't think they do that is how they can slide them in.

I think hammerfell with a sword singing skill line seems more likely. Sai sah han as a key story character.
