If they ever do shutdown the servers, give us a solo “runESO” to play around in the future with all the stuff our toons currently have.

No at some point it will be to few players for dlc to make money. This is far ahead, EOS is ranked as one of the 3 grand MMO, WOW, FF14 and ESO.
After DLC stop selling they will mostly stop them, probably add cheaper stuff and crown stuff, at some time this also become unprofitable. Still ESO have lots of lore so the game will sell just as TES III sells today and it don't cost much to keep some servers running.
Most MMO who shut down hard don't own the IP like SWG or has publishers know to kill MMO who don't make enough money as in Wildstar others tend to die an heat dead.

There is no finale in MMO. As a developer, you either keep the updates coming or risk losing players that results in shutdown.

Tabula Rasa actually had finale were everybody got killed during a massive invasion.

I can picture my main somehow being cadwell with a cover story/disguise and much, much more powerful than he lets on appearing to start you on a centuries long path to eventually remove the daedra from tamriel. But that is another story......

Even though I do like the reincarnation concept, ESO is so light and fluffy compared to other ES games. Part of me wants the story to end being reclaimed by Molag Bal and spending eternity as just another mindless soulshriven.

Taking a nice jaunt through the land harvesting various materials as I come across them. Suddenly finding myself in the wrong place at the wrong time. A brand new dark anchor drops from the sky crushing me underneath. Last thing I hear is Molag Bal laughing as the screen fades black...
