For me crafting bag and inventory space are the reasons NOT to pay them anything more. I hate to give in to extortion. Also I've already paid them quite enough, some people forget the game is not actually f2p. I hope they won't make inventory space issue worse or even amend it, otherwise it would be a reason to actually quit, not to subscribe.

I no longer have it nor do I have any desire to.

They refuse to fix their broken game but continue pumping out cosmetic items.

If they will ever fix their garbage servers then I will, but they haven’t fixed them at all and never will.

I've had plus a couple of times before. Doesn't feel worth it to me. I understand supporting the game, but it's more like supporting paywall gimmicks and fashion. Warden should be base game. JC should be base game. What's next, spell crafting only if you buy the next chapter?

I've had it since beta launch but am cancelling it next month (already paid for this month) because the recent nerfs and cyro changes have really deterred me. Plus Fallout 76 (even though that's broke also lmao)

    Yes, to support the game.

I kinda don't want it, weirdly enough. Why? Because I want those stupid DLC dungeons out of my randoms. I don't run randoms anymore on characters I have above level 50 because of those dungeons existing. I like doing them from time to time, yeah, but on randoms? Just... no.

Because 1500 crowns a month + increased exp. + craft bag + all other extras, is a better deal than simply buying a 1500 crown pack every month - which would cost EXACTLY the same (€12,99). Since I have a 3-month recurring sub which only costs €11,99 I'm actually paying less than what a 1500 crown pack would cost me. One euro less, but it's less all the same!

Why would anyone buy 1500 crowns packs repeatedly? They can just get a bigger pack if they want that many crowns.

Don't forget though about the 10% increase in crown rewards to 1650. That makes it a little more competitive with the crown prices when not on sale. It will be interesting to see what the ESO+ crown store discounts are like for those who like crown store stuff (I'll pass).

I don't want to support the Craftbag being behind a Subscription anymore, I don't intend to keep it once it runs out.

The game is build to purposely be annoying without it. Look at how many Provisioning ingredients do we have. Look at how many sets do we have. It's made to be annoying, and provide a fix which is ESO plus. It is not a pay2win, but rather a pay to play element since you can not enjoy the full game without it, you miss crafting and have to deal with inventory management. The inventory is so annoying that you still have issues with it even with ESO plus. I made the decision to play ESO because it's a Buy to Play game, I don't want keep paying to play a game I already bought. I will just deal with the inventory management, and spentd all my gold to max all my chars inventory and make all of them mules, except two, otherwise I will not have space.

I wouldn't mind that much if you could buy the Craftbag with crowns, since I could buy it with gold now with the gift system, but nah, I bet it's what make this game alive at this point. Same thing for the extra space on your bank that it gives.

TBH this pool is pointless as you will not get a representative portion of players on forums (minority of players use forums, and most of those who do are ESO+ Fanboys)

Do you actually read the forums? This is where people come to rant.

After Murkmire patch, and the nerf dump ZOS *** on sorcs, the framerate drops in Murkmire zone, game bugs everywhere, and just overall a general lack of quality control, I canceled my sub. As much as I'd hate to do it, I feel like investing more money into this company is a waste.

If the game was sub only I would in a heartbeat. The craft bag isn't worth the money, there isnt single house in the game I like (including the psijic one) so the extra furniture slots is of no use to me and I buy the DLCs outright excluding the overpriced dungeon which have no appeal to me.

The game caters to casuals and fashionistas so I will not pay a monthly sub simply for inventory management and crowns for vanity items that are unappealing. As I have my Daemon Chicken and my Dark Stag Im pretty set for all the vanity I could ever need. If they release a notable sized Nord Keep then Ill buy it but untill then ill save my money for proper DLCs only.

I do. I always do my best to support the games I play, especially when they run a FTP model. The benefits for plus members make it a no brainer, too.

However, I lately have become more and more bored and disillusioned with ESO, and I find I miss the older style MMO's...which means I will probably be spending less time in ESO in favor of Brad McQuaid's new project. At that point we'll see if I still keep plus.

Costs the same amount as a pizza as I am always told.

    I'd rather buy a pizza.
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

First, my basic position on subscriptions and MMO pay models:

I think 'buy to play' is fair. Pay for a game that is made for you to enjoy, it's all good. Guild Wars 2 does that.

So, what about subscriptions? OK, MMO's have some ongoing costs that might justify a small subscription. For more, there should be more ongoing value provided.

The traditional price is $15/month for a 'full' subscription. Arguable how well the MMO's have justified that as they tend to charge for expansions also, but ESO has provided more value than most with DLC content included.

So, what about 'free to play'? My objection is that that is a marketing-focused game design, all about 'attracting players' with 'free', that doesn't change any of the basic economics of needing the revenue.

So, it replaces an 'honest' model of selling the game with one that has to motive those 'free' players into spending.

One of the less painful ways to do that is to have the more dedicated players pay, and the more casual players not pay.

For example, in world of tanks, 'premium' is basically increased rewards in 'leveling' and game currency that are more valuable for more dedicated players.

But F2P usually seems focused on building a more crippled game, to create problems that spending money solves.

For example, limited inventory so that it's pretty miserable until you pay for more. And ESO pretty much does just that, though it's more balanced than most in making the game mostly fine, and still playable with lots of hours more on inventory.

So, in principle I prefer more 'buy to play', and just maybe some subscription but not so much if I want to play casually.

Having said all that, my approach to ESO was, I want to play casually, and I'm willing to spend the price of the game but don't want to spend the price of a subscription.

Before I bought Summerset - I'd owned the base game for years but barely played - I asked whether the inventory was built to pressure a lot to buy ESO.

I was told no - and I think I was told wrong. But it's still a great game, while I spend hours and hours micro managing inventory, almost always with full bags, leaving tons of loot on the ground.

So, no I don't have ESO, but I want to play casually and not spend $15/month just for a reasonable inventory system.

It detracts from the game, but it's the balance I'm playing with. I'm planning to watch for a crown sale on black Friday so I can buy the DLC's.

I'm sort of regretting passing up the 'black' bundle that included the DLC's for about the same price as Summerset Collector's + Morrowing would have cost - trading the CE mount and pet I got for all the DLC's.

They are overly limited on the purchase options that way. But that's what I did as I wanted the mount/pet. So no DLC yet.

It'd be nice if they'd sell the crafting bag for a cash price up to $20, but I don't think they will as it'd cost them money. And that pushes me to consider whether to keep playing ESO as the inventory hours increase.

I play all sorts of content, healer, stamdps, magdps, dungeons, trials, BGs, occasional offtanking, and casual housing, RP, farming, trading

Even with ESO+ and maxed bank space, 7/8 inventory upgrades on multiple toons, and more than a few storage containers, I’m still running out of room for everything

Without ESO+, it’d be impossible to play the game tbh

Currently No - though I have from time to time (and used my crowns to unlock DLC areas I found enjoyable).

    Why no?

While I enjoy the game as buy to play, it isn't worth a subscription.

Yes, the crafting bag is great, but it's just a way to monetize a work around for the god awful inventory system - and I'm not going to support a company monetizing their customers in such a way.

Performance wise the game is hit or miss, lag is a perennial issue, along with days filled with random DCs, crashes and other annoying bugs that are acceptable in a mostly free product, but not so in a paid service.

Other things that distract for me include CP (trying to catch up as a new player is a cruel joke, yet higher levels make lots of the game a joke), stamina reliance on PVP skills (not running content I don't like over and over every time I want to make a stamina character), and the way parts of the game now feel designed to push people to spend for over-priced items in the store (e.g. the whole housing and furnishing systems).

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

There are many reasons, but for me it ultimately comes down to this: Sub-only is really the only acceptable way to run an MMO, real-world money for in-game anything is inherently bad, and I’m stubbornly holding to this even as the game moves farther and farther into the unacceptible-BS way of making money.
